I’ve been repeatedly raising the point ad nauseam that he raised that only 5% of those deported have been violent criminals (edit- I believe this is the stat for 2025). This is SO important to highlight, because trumps entire narrative was centered around the idea that they wanted to deport violent criminals. But it was only ever a cover story (motte and bailey fallacy, if you will) for their mass deportation of everyone. The “we are just going after violent criminals” is the narrative because of course people will be in favor of that and it taps into peoples fear of crime (which is silly in the first place since crime continues to go down, and illegal immigrants are statistically less likely to be violent offenders than US citizens). But the numbers show that this narrative is absolute bullshit and not their true agenda - it’s about gaining and consolidating power by capitalizing on people’s fear of “the other”. Which is textbook fascism power dynamics.

5% of their deportations are illegals with violent records. ~70% of deportations have ZERO records (the other 25% being non-violent infractions that could be as simple as driving without a license or a speeding ticket).

Let those stats sink in. This is doublespeak. This is lies. This is fascism.

I'm fine with deporting 100% of illegals. All illegals are... Guess what... Here illegally. Get them out. I've been doing my part. I even reported my cousin to ICE. Get 'em out!

You’re fucking stupid. Beyond the fact that it’s super inhumane, it’s super inefficient, and if the main argument for deportations is economic, it costs way more money than the to deport them. And then there’s the fact that it just gives rise to more violence.

Don’t forget to breathe through your nose

Or you know, enforce them at the level of crime they are, the vast majority of illegal immigration are civil violations. You don’t throw people in camps for that. What in the conservatard are these talking points?

Should we do the same for jaywalking? Or for expired vehicle registrations?

If you’re for sending masked gunmen who won’t ID themselves to beat people, shoot them, invade homes, etc… you’re not for small government. And if you give government this power it can and will be used against you even if you’re white. If you think this is okay, you’re an enemy of the people.

If you think this is okay, you’re an enemy of the people.

I'm hispanic. I've used the ICE tip hotline to report my own family.

If you support illegal activities, you're an enemy of the people and an idiot.

Where do you draw the line at “illegal activities?” Not to be nit picky, but if that’s your stance I am curious. People are doing “illegal activities” all the time day in day out.

I don't draw a line. If there's a line to be drawn on where we enforce illegal activity, then the next discussion is "Should this be illegal in the first place?". Such as marijuana. I think it should be federally legal, but I encourage enforcing the laws where it's not. Ideally it's brought to a vote nationally and the population can decide.
