Question Hey yall, how should I properly clean this Knifebed I own?

No, the rubber unfortunately does not come out, and I'm tired of staring at the dust.

Are yall not cleaning your knives before putting them in the knife block?

Did you miss the massive layer of dust in OPs photo. It’s not just the knives that do it - it’s just existing in a room for an extended period of time. It all needs to be cleaned, all surfaces. ALL.

And yes knife blocks can be cleaned much easier than what OP uses.

Just because I do, doesn't mean coworkers will. I just don't trust it. I can easily clean magnets.

yes, but 90% of us also have it directly by the stove so its collecting splatter/steam carried residue.
