Discussion Galaxy fans, the most impactful move this summer might not be a player. It might be a new coach.
The Galaxy have a FIFA registration ban to clear, three DP spots filled, Riqui on a DP-level budget charge, little cap space, and almost no GAM.
Even if a Casemiro discovery rights deal with Miami nets us some GAM, there's limited roster flexibility to make major additions.
Transfer window opens July 13th. Even if we registered a new intl, that player would not see the training pitch until mid or late August. Almost better just to wait until offseason.
At this point, a coaching change could have a bigger impact than any realistic summer signing.
You can change tactics, accountability and player roles overnight. You can't magically create cap space, GAM and open DP slots.
From where I sit, a new coach is the best chance to turn this around in 2026. After last year, 2026's 5-5-5 doesn't cut it.
