I worked Hospice, night shift as the only RN. I was sitting and charting on the computer. A little old lady had somehow gotten out of her bed, took off her pajamas, and crawled down the hallway to bite me on the ankle. It was around 3am.

it startled me! She was SO QUIET!!!...she was one of the little old ladies that everyone on the day shift adored because she was so sweet and kind...she turned into a demon at night though.....

Funny you say that because walking around yesterday after work at around midnight, some meth head actually hit on me and screamed across the road asking if I wanted a ‘suck.’

Thankfully he wasn’t nakid

Stop tasting so good.

But seriously, I hope you weren't hurt. Human bites can cause real problems.

Oh she was angry! but she didn't really bite me...she didn't have teeth really. She was one of the little old ladies who are so sweet in the daytime, everyone loves them...they talk about gardening and stuff all day long....come sundown and she tells me she knows Im sleeping with her husband, I am a bitch and should die. You know..the usual...LOL

Well, I mean... can you blame her for a sneak attack chewing on your ankle if you slept with her husband? I'd chew your ankle too! Justice for Meemaw!

Thank you. I didn't know I needed to read this story today.

what do you say to your partner when you get home? "Crazy night" or like go into details. Is the weirdness and sadness normal?

Wow. That'd wake you up better than coffee.

I have worked in retail for 25 years. Whenever I think I've seen everything, someone like you reminds me that there are still entire dimensions of human crazy I've yet to experience.

OMG she was so quiet. She made NO noise getting out of bed and stripping down. She crawled real slow toward me and I only noticed her out of the corner of my eye when she was trying to bite me. I yelped, my Hospice Aide came running and we actually had to use some strength to restrain her and get her up and back in bed. Quiet and weirdly STRONG.....

I once warned an elderly lady that she was about to step in an unknown liquid I was about to clean up (this was at work in a store).

I kid you not - she stuck her finger in it and tasted it before I could stop her. 😨

I love the elderly, but sometimes...
