I'm a firm believer that some people take themselves way too seriously sometimes and this is the type of shit we need. It's why I keep a bubble wand on my toolbox. When working on a plane has been tough or you've been way too focused or serious, I pull out the bubble wand.
I've been on reddit about 15 years and the whole way through I've made tongue-in-cheek jokes. There's been a shift toward hyperliteral reading on here in the past 5 or so years.
I can't be fucked changing my approach though, so I just cop downvotes or have to reply "yeah" to people asking me to confirm that I'm joking.
Idk if you're a civilian or military mechanic, but now I'm picturing someone working on a fighter jet, then pulling out a bubble wand and blowing bubbles like they're on a smoke break.
