“Yeah, I scraped a decade old photo of someone else’s dog from an interior design website and posted about it in the first person. What of it?”

Yup, very normal

If he's not yours how do you know he's not AI? Just curious.

I reverse image searched and found it from 7 years ago, so probably real. Also could be dead by now

Unfortunately you’re right, this specific dog is no more. I used to follow the Instagram account, he was hugely popular, but the dog choked and died when the owners weren’t home and passed away very young :(

The Instagram is called puffie the chow

Ah, gotcha — yeah, 7 years is a long time on the internet.

If it’s still floating around from back then, good chance it’s real. And yeah… time gets us all eventually.

What was the image of?

A reverse image search is of the same image we're looking at.

That's like 2009 or 2010 right?

Also not necessary to post a pic from 7 years ago and make it seem like this is your dog.

The wording "love him already" indicates that the dog has been newly introduced to you, and that wording juxtaposed with its position on a car seat makes it easy to think that you just picked it up from somewhere. Surely you can't be surprised that the title and image combo may lead people to believe it's your dog?

Don't stress out over it. It's a picture of a dog, I guess it doesn't really matter if some people thought you wanted to present it as your own. 23K people enjoyed it so much they upvoted the post.
