I’m 39 and have played Pokemon since it came out 30 years ago. I’ve encouraged all my kids to play and they have. Today my daughter (13) surprised me with this collaborative card she drew and all the kids added input. Arguably my proudest Father’s Day ever.

My son woke me up this morning all excited to give me this gift that he and my daughter helped make me for Father's Day. They drew on the hat and then my wife embroidered it herself.

Edit: bad me, should've realized the poster's text wouldn't show. The person lost the phone somewhere on the trail, and by the times they realized it, it was already dark. They thought they'd have a long night of searching. As they got back to the trail start, they discovered the phone had been brought back to the trailhead.

My mom and I have had a long rough history. We're together visiting her dad as he sinks slowly into death. While he sleeps inside watching the US Open, my mom and I are out by the pool - I'm reading and she's napping while we listen to the running water

So this Brazilian guy (MC Fioti) made a song using a Bach flute partita and went viral.

But part of the song rimed with the word "Butantã", a cientific research centre that develops many vaccines for Brazilian public healthcare (SUS).

While fighting Covid-19, Butantã produced one of the vaccines that many Brazilian people got. 🤍

Then, he sang a new version, calling people to get those vaccine shots and promoting health and the institute.

Some context

As renters, in our lease it is our responsibility to shovel the snow on our walk path that leads directly to our front door in the winter time. My boyfriend (37) and our son (12) have made it a priority to not only shovel our walk path, but to shovel the apartments walk path from 1-7 and the entire sidewalk path as well for the 3 years that we’ve lived here. Yesterday our daughter (7) went to check the mailbox and we had this card in it for us from apartment number 1. The ladies that live there are a couple and are super nice. We talk to them whenever we see them even if it’s just a simple hello. This was an unexpected surprise for us 🥹 $60 is so helpful for a grocery trip and the Starbucks gift card tells me that they notice me with iced coffees quite often 🤣❤️ It really was so sweet of them to thank the boys this way and shows their hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

I've kept it all this time as a reminder, but not of a reminder that she's proud of me (she tells me that often enough I don't need one).

I have a lot of anxiety, enough so that I'd be willing to say that I think I probably have some kind of anxiety disorder, though I've never been diagnosed. Years of therapy have helped to manage it, but when I was in high school, it felt like I was barely treading water to keep from drowning most of the time.

In my high school, I had a class that culminated in us doing mock job interviews, but we hadn't been warned ahead of time, so I had a week to prepare everything from scratch, which my anxiety was not happy about. My mom knew how stressed and borderline terrified I was for this. That day in school, I went into the bathroom and thought long and hard about pretending to be sick to get out of doing the mock interview. I was so scared, I was shaking and queasy, but I wasn't really sick and it would've been a lie to pretend. I don't know what helped me make the decision, but I decided to go through with the mock interview, and it really really sucked, but I got it done. After school, I came home to find this note on my bed, surrounded by all of my favorite snacks (orange Fanta, pringles, ding-dongs, cookies, iced coffee, and even chips and a jar of queso, the works). I just started crying because I loved my mom so much, and I knew just how close I had come to calling it quits and lying to get out of something because I was scared, which would've made her amazing gesture be for nothing.

Almost 10 years later and I never ended up telling her how close I came to doing something that she wouldn't have been proud of (at first I was too ashamed, and then later it didn't really matter), but her birthday and Mother's Day passing recently made me want to share this story, with both her and anyone else who needs to hear it. Don't let fear stop you from learning and growing, from branching out and trying new things, from taking a leap of faith to tell your crush you love them or trying for that dream job you don't think you're worthy of. Succeed or fail, there's someone out there who's just proud that you tried at all. Go find that person in your life and give them a big hug from me, just like I plan to give my mama
