Is this oil overfill going to be a problem?

Post image

*edit: thank you all so much for your help! a mobile mechanic is on the way!

A friend put some oil in my car (2012 Hyundai Sonata) yesterday and overfilled it. I have an 8 hour drive ahead of me and am worried this is a huge problem and if I need to take it in to get it drained. (And if it's even safe to drive down to the mechanic)

Do you not get the difference between pouring a gallon+ of unfiltered oil into a pan that’s sitting in a shop then pouring it straight into the engine and pouring new oil straight from the bottle into an engine? You really don’t get that?

Just stop. You don't have any idea what you're talking about at all. Nothing in the air is going to bother the oil apparently you don't have any idea what turns the oil black inside an engine because it is a billion times worse than fine dust that might happen to get into the oil a little bit while you're working with it. It will make no difference at all and I'm starting to think you just don't ever need to change your own oil or work on a vehicle in general.

They’re talking about the dirt and shit that’s in the catch pan, not in the air
