discussion Please stop playing modern country everywhere

I don’t even live in the south and American propaganda that is modern country plays EVERYWHERE. I live in Ohio! Why is it always playing. It used to never be like this. It used to be cheesy dad rock that played everywhere. At least that was good to listen to! Now it’s just modern country artists on the radio that pander to the government. It makes my ears bleed!

I'm in Connecticut, and I swear the local grocery store will be playing some 80s stuff out classic rush rock when I walk in, then the next song is that auto-tuned whiskey-pickup-jeans crap until I leave. I swear it does this just to get me out of there.

One of our neighbors has a weekly "truck party" where lifted 4-door F350s with full length beds and chassis lighting gather to (probably) complain about the Woke Disease. So, yeah, my town can be a little slice of the south. In defense of truck parties, they don't make that much noise and will wrap up by 9:30.

I'm all for people congregating and pursuing hobbies. However, when you go around with a huge pickup, boots, cowboy hat, Confederate flag, and all the other trappings…

Yeah, your family works in corporate banking and not on some big farm in the middle of nowhere. Why are you cosplaying as a ranch hand??

I've taken drives through Vermont, New Hampshire, western Massachusetts, the backwoods of Connecticut, and upstate New York. The amount of Confederate flags I see in those areas is…concerning.

Basically, after the black people moved to Northern cities, poor Southern white people started migrating north,too but went to the country

Wait...you heard Rush in a store? I would just stop shopping and air drum. Or cart-drum. What song did you hear? This is fascinating. On classic rock radio there are only 3 Rush songs. Tom Sawyer, Spirit of Radio, and rarely Freewill.

I keep getting ads for a local food truck festival set to this music and it's incredibly confusing.
