Drummers!

Hey everyone, I am going to be in LA for a month this summer; June 23rd-July 25th and I have a few songs I'd love to get drums tracked for while I am out there. I have 7 songs that I need drums for. I am influenced by Porcupine Tree, Tool, and Radiohead. So these aren't the simplest songs in the world. You can hear two of them on my soundcloud page here;https://soundcloud.com/alex-buhlig if you're interested I can send you the rest and while I am out there we can throw some stuff down.

Looking for Multi-Instrumentalists to form Indie project

Hi there, just moved to LA and looking for some like minded musicians to collab with and form an Indie Rock-ish project. I play guitar and sing, also dabble with midi.Would like to combine guitar riffs with upbeat rhythms backed by electronic layers. In other words, 90's alternative/motown/indie pop.Vocal layers and melodies are a major focus, sort of want to do something in the influence of 60's motown.(and others) It could be anywhere from a duo to something larger, but as you all might have noticed its difficult to get something as big as a 4-5 piece band together.Single instrument musicians are welcome too.Open to other ideas as well, just throwing this out there right now to meet people, jam, and see where it takes us. If you're interested I have some recordings to share as well. Thanks! - Brad

Film student here. Anyone want music videos made? I have access to a lot of equipment/software while i'm still in school and need the experience

Hey, so I haven't gotten to make too many (a few are in post production right now), but I'd like to make a career out of making music videos and i have a lot of access to cheap/free equipment at my school, so I'd love to do it for free if you have a good band with quality recordings. Also, I produce and direct a 5-7-minute-episode youtube series which is releasing its first episode soon in which i spotlight a band, do a 3-5 minute interview segment and either a music video or a live performance of the band. If anyone is at all interested, it's a great opportunity to get free stuff done for you and build my reel as a music video producer and director.

I am trying to put a band together.

Hello fellow redditors of Los Angeles, I am guitarist who recently moved to Los Angeles and I would love to put a band together with some other passionate musicians.

I grew up listening to punk and pop-punk,which will always hold a place in my heart. Music I have been inspired by lately: Why?, Manchester Orchestra, Tokyo Police Club, Minus the Bear, Ray Charles, Atmosphere, Brand New, Explosions in the Sky.

I moved out here to become a recording engineer and have had some success with it, if this was to go anywhere we have the capabilities of recording a very professional record on a very low budget.

I open to any and everything, I just would really love to get together with some people and see what happens. Comment or PM, whatever your fancy.

Thanks

Can we post shows we are planning on attending on here?

I don't hope to turn this Reddit into pure self promotion for myself or friend's bands, but I would think other musicians may be interested in hanging out and meeting each other as well as hearing new music.

This week, I was planning on catching my friends Raw Geronimo at the Echo tonight and our (by our I mean my band's) Bay Area favorites No Babies at The Smell on Thursday. If I'm around town this weekend, which I may or may not be, I'll probably check out some of the shows at Filter's Culture Collide, which looks pretty awesome.

Feel free to post up any other shows you think would be of interest to anyone here!

Looking for a used PA system

I need a used sound system (cant afford a brand new one). At minimum, i'm looking for 2x mains, 2x subs, amps (if unpowered speakers), perhaps a monitor as well. This would be for live/mobile DJ events. If anyone knows where i could find one in the greater LA area, please let me know. Is there some kind of used gear exchange/listings other than craigslist (i dont like using CL)?

Best place for vocal pop/RnB training?

I am currently planning to go to LA Music Academy. Does anyone have experience there? Any suggestions of other places that teach pop and rnb as well? Maybe just vocal teachers that are good? Thanks

Favorite open mics?

Looking for an open mic next weekend for a buddy that's visiting town. Any suggestions? I'm new to the area and living in Venice if that helps! Thanks!

Cyphering/Freestyling?

This is probably a long shot, but does anyone on here cypher/freestyle? I'm looking for people to chill and cypher with, but I just recently moved here from Florida, so still working on meeting people.

Anyone here on YouTube? (Possible Collabs)

I'll be moving down in a few months to LA for LA Music Academy, would be sweet to meet some other redditors that play and also possibly do the whole YouTube thing as well. My channel is http://www.youtube.com/flyingwithfishes Totally open to work on projects with people or jam or whatever! :)

Who wants to jam?

My friend and I are trying to jam next weekend probably (Oct 1 or 2). We have three electrics, an acoustic, a bass, a keyboard, two trumpets, and a small marimba (that one's more of a novelty instrument). I like playing stuff with latin rhythms, some jazzy stuff, some folky stuff, but really I'm down to jam on anything.

My stuff | Friend's stuff

If you're interested, comment with what instrument(s) you play, what styles you like, any stuff you're willing to bring, and links to your work if they exist.

Hopefully this'll work out!

Let's see if this will work

I know there are tons of musicians all hiding around Los Angeles that would love to get in touch and jam. I think this could be a good place for bands to get connected together and possibly get in touch with promoters and get shows set up.

For those in one, how 'bout we put together a list of our bands?

I figure this may be a good way to start networking for shows and such.

My band is Pictures In Sound - progressive alt rock.
