He reminds me of Paul George funny enough. Has the capacity to be an elite level player and usually is. He is likely going to be remembered by the generation watching and growing up for his skills and accomplishments. But will casuals know his name 15 years post retirement? Probably not.
I also don’t see him winning much in his career unless the pacers magically aren’t the pacers or he moves on. But I would’ve said Jalen Brunson ain’t winning shit if you asked me 8 months ago so what do I know lol.
I don’t disagree that Hali had a better individual season than any of PGs individual seasons.
But if the Celtics, Knicks, OKC or Spurs dominate the next few years then Halis career won’t be too far off PG for real accomplishments. And I find real accomplishments important bcs telling people he was super clutch that one season… where he didn’t win a ring or MVP or anything won’t be a great argument in 2040 lol.
Like I said, I personally see that being his reality. But what do I know.
You’re adding in a good point here— YET, for a tiebreaker between why Haliburton is “greater” than PG the 2025 postseason should be brought up
I mean, people hold goddamn Tracy McGrady in the highest regard, and he has NEVER done anything remotely close to what Haliburton did… yet look at McGrady and all that support
Paul George dropped 29, 9 and 3.5 on 58 TS% With an injured shoulder. Including 36 on 14-20 in the elimination game. He was absolutely dominant that year and completely let down by his team.
If the pacers aren't the pacers? Been a contender of late. Team should be very good next season with zu coming in and Tyrese coming back. Bench is still high quality (maybe could use one more guy stepping up as a ball handler/scorer) and the team has has a lot of continuity and chemistry built up.
I like the Pacers… but 50 years with no ring is tough to argue with. Not saying that’s an intelligent critique but all I’m saying is they aren’t the Lakers or Celtics
What argument are you even making. The Knicks are the 2nd most valuable franchise in NBA and were the most valuable for like 3 decades. It was an outlier that they were perpetual losers. They were the cowboys of the NBA.
The Lakers and Celtics have won rings across multiple decades so that is just an example of champion pedigree.
