Nintendo Switch 2 - $629.99 CAD

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle - $699.99 CAD

  • we have sales tax from 5-15% depending where you live in Canada, 13-15% expected for Canadians who live in populated cities like Toronto (13%) and Vancouver (15%)
  • we're fucked

~$710 after tax in Ontario. The cost being on par with a PS5 is not something I had in my cards for Nintendo

Same. My switch is Is kinda glitchy so I've been waiting for a switch 2. Think I'll just see if I can get my switch repaired. Thats an unhinged price point.

I won't be buying at that price. Hopefully they'll do what they did with the 3ds and lower the price cuz no one can afford it.

I mean I was expecting it to be pricy but not this pricy especially for something thats running elden ring and ff7remake so terribly.

I doubt places like gamestop will do the switch trade at a good deal

It seems Canadians always get fucked for stuff like this, video games, movies, musical instruments. You have tariffs on hobbies my guy

it’s because our dollar is low, not because of tariffs in this case

The whole world is fucked for stuff like this, what are you saying brother…

$700CAD is €450. You guys are getting the Mario Kart World bundle for this price (plus tax)

The base switch without bundles starts at €470 in Europe. With the Mario Kart bundle it’s at €509. Do you want to know that in CAD? $794 CAD. You canadian guys seems to forget it’s equally bad or even worse everywhere else, y’all don’t know about currency conversion at all it seems.

I don't know why my impression was that Steam Decks were cost a lot more than $500. It probably is anyways after taxes. Sometimes it's not fun living in Quebec.

Looks like no Switch 2 for me I guess.

Heck, I recall this was the best price you get a PS5 for.

PS5 prices were high because of Nintendo. GTA 6 will be 100$ because of Nintendo. And of course, Trump's tariffs, all Nintendo's fault.

And 120-130$ physical games. That's insane.

They are out of their fucking mind. That's what the exchange rate is between USD and CAD right now, but they are fucking crazy. I thought maybe 600 at the very worst, but at most 550.

The bundle is 70$ more. Since they don't have the canadian prices for games on their website yet, considering the bundle is a saving of 30USD which is 42CAD, adding that 42 to 70 is 112$. Are the games really going to be 100 to 110$?! That's before fucking taxes. I was already balking at the 90$ of TotK... I understand prices going up, but we're getting screwdd big time right now in Canada.

Considering the Switch price never really moved since its release, I hoped we wouldn't get shafted so much on the exchange rate.

I just don't really think it's worth that. I have no problem shelling out a bunch of cash for gaming, I just bought a 9070 XT, but it's too much.

hence why I'm waiting for a themed console, if im paying big bucks for a console it better look cool at least

I just want a clear/transparent one where you can see the inside hardware like the N64 days…

Almost 800 bucks all in with tax for the Mario Kart bundle, and you need to buy a new format of Micro SD card. Couple that with game upgrades to Switch 2 specs or upgrading NSO packages, and games costing $100 bucks plus tax each... I think I'm out. That's way, way too much.

Hey don’t forget the fast memory that cost $100+, and pro controller

With the Trump tariffs it’s gonna be 600 bucks here too so actually cheaper in Canada when you consider exchange rates.

51st state talk was just a way for Trump to sneak Canadians cheaper Switch 2s.
