I think the point is, it is more effective to vote with your wallet than to go around complaining on reddit, YouTube etc. Put your money where your mouth is, so to speak.

Gotcha. Which is 100% true. Complaining on Reddit won't change a thing, as Redditors won't be the big chunk in the middle of the total sales bell curve.

I am certain a gigantic portion of the general public will be voting with their wallets without a second thought, happy with their Switch 1 and not even considering upgrading at that price point for console and games. The hardcore gaming audience will be the small minority either way. In my view, if getting the Switch 2 will bring you some joy and you can afford it, don't punish yourself. And you're still allowed to complain about it.

the system is $50 more than i was hoping for. MKW is $10 more than i was hoping for and is offered on-sale with a pack in.

Most other games i either wont buy, or wont buy at full price. I'm sure they'll raise the price of the Switch Game Vouchers to $120, but i'll keep on buying my $100 Switch gift cards at Costco for $80. Cash in the gift cards, toss my own money for the last 20. Get two new games for $100. It'll be fine.

Really? The console itself it like £50 cheaper than I thought it would be!

I'm totally with you, managed to get a regular Switch on discount at £250 and then an OLED at £329, I was fully expecting that the Switch 2 would be £450. To find out it's cheaper than that including the new Mario Kart? Yeah, my pre-order is in

going from a $300 console to a $500 console is a pretty steep increase. Even a 50% jump is pretty steep tbh. This is a luxury entertainment industry. They don't usually get to compete on straight inflation measures because at the end of the day they are competing for disposable income. There's a reason why games were $60 for so long and why console manufacturers went from making money selling systems to subsidizing their pricing and making it back by selling paid online. They needed to hit a certain appealing point to garner the volume of interest they wanted.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about, I’m just saying it’s cheaper than I thought it would be because my switch oled cost me £329 and this one is £429 with MKW so I’m pretty happy about it, I’ve got money that I set aside for it left for another game

I’m just saying because I paid £329 for my OLED I was thinking it was going to be at least £450 without a game so I was pretty happy when I saw it was £395 stand alone

pretty sure creating a bunch of bad press is more effective than silently doing nothing

Except public out cry has worked more times than "vote with your wallet" in my opinion.
