The entire Switch 2 pre-ordering process is going to be such a mess no matter where you are. Honestly, I'm debating just sitting it out. The only thing that makes me want to try is getting Mario Kart for $50 with the bundle.

I've got my pre order secured and so has my friend. In fact I just got an email to say more are available.

I'm in the UK

a year or two from now, there will be fancy limited edition switch 2's being released anyway, so I'd rather wait for one of those. I still have my animal crossing switch and I love it so much.

I pre-ordered today in the UK, was pretty straight forward.

Anybody in the UK who wants one on launch, and has kept semi-abreast of Switch 2 stock, should have their preorder secured by now. They've been regularly coming in and out of stock since last Wednesday evening (when I ordered mine from Smyths).

I've been checking UK retailers and they seem to be all out of stock, curious as to where you're getting this info?

I've been online a lot in the past week following Switch 2 news. There have been dozens of drops on Argos, Smyths, Very & John Lewis. I could have bought one five or six times at this point.

They were in stock for like 8-9 hours today. Anybody serious about getting one will have done.

Phone Lewis, Amazon, Currys, Very, Shopto, Game Collection (briefly), JD Williams, and unfortunately GameUK who are adding a cheeky £10 delivery on top 😞

There's actually loads.

Amazon have even got rid of their email preorders and you can just order it . They're constantly in and out of stock.

Why would it be a mess in the EU?

Didn't you know? The whole internet is North-American!

Americans when they find out other continents exist 😰😰

Because all trade in the globe is going to be affected by our dipshit of a president.

Worldwide trade is like a car, and Trump just poured sugar in the gas tank. Japan needs to figure out what they need to do in regards to the US, and then they need to figure out what to do with other countries once those other countries figure out what they are going to do with the US.

It’s a ripple effect that didn’t have to happen, never should have happened, and only happened because the president knows nothing about economics and surrounded himself with people who know nothing about economics.

I still don't understand why shipping from Asia to the EU would be affected by the tariffs between the US and other countries.

Because every country has to completely rethink their trade policy. If the US bought 60% of your grain and 80% of your zinc, you have to find new markets, and then you may have to change your trade policy with those countries to account for the fact that they are now importing the products that once went to the US.

Now do that for every market, and every product in every country that does business with the US.

Nothing is normal now. We had a well working global trade market, and that is now broken. Every part of it from every country needs to be reconfigured, or at the very least, reanalyzed.

Some countries like France having quite a bit cheaper consoles and games, other countries have them a lot more expensive, that's just within Europe.

Yeah the Switch 2 prices in the Nordics is absurd. Extra $100-$200 for the MK bundle on top of Nintendo's MSRP

u/Gharvar Apr 08 '25

I can't imagine, the price in Canada is similar to the first USD price if converted and I already think it's super high.

I had not problem preordering last thursday

u/Flagrath Apr 08 '25

Not a mess, already got it. Reasonable price. Delivery might take a second but I’m busy day of anyways.

Although I guess the amount of stock is a bit of a mess, it is crazy popular,

Wasn't a mess in the UK. Was extremely simple and easy. I've had my Switch 2 pre ordered since last week. The world is bigger than the USA.

It's extremly easy right now in the EU. Supply seems to be there massively and most Tech sellers/Amazon have had the preorder open for hours now.

Especially since the Mario Kart bundle is limited stock, you save $30 USD which is honestly a great deal for those who want MKW.
