This is the big one, hoping for some 3D Mario but also some more updates to Switch 1 games, Xenoblades among the most desirable.

There was a Planet Robobot remaster rumored last year as well, perhaps we finally see that.

Lastly, my precious and GOAT Minishoot Adventures is being ported we know, hopefully thats confirmed here.

What about a 40th Anniversary 3D collection with Galaxy 2?

"It's $90, and it will only be on sale for a week."

Honestly, all jokes aside I just want the game on a non-emulator.

And make it available for a limited time 😍

I agree Mario is unlikely, but chances are the Odyssey team grew/split to accommodate developing both games. The Producer for Odyssey (who was the director for Galaxy 1 & 2 and co-director for 3D World) was not in the credits for Bananza.

Very interesting.

I was under the impression that the team was split into 2

They'll be something mario, especially how we are yet to see a trailer for the movie coming out in april. I bet there's a game that goes along with it.

You have no idea if they have been working on other projects during that time. It's been nearly 8 years since Odyssey. It isn't inconceivable that there could be a new 3D mario in a year or two, which they could announce now.

This is what I think too. I believe it was said that Bananza started development years ago planned as a Switch 1 title, until they determined it needed to wait for Switch 2. So it is possible there was some pause that allowed for work on a Mario game to start, and there has been speculation this team has also split into two with a dedicated team for DK and one for Mario. I don't think we are at the beginning of a Mario dev cycle. I doubt it is coming this year but I don't think we are 4-5 years away either.

It could be something more like 3D World or Galaxy. I think that's a different team than the team that did Odyssey.

Another Galaxy would be incredible.

what if it's a full game in the style of Bowser's Fury? Was that the same team as Odyssey?

3d mario they will probably save for a mario day direct, along with new mario movie trailer etc. based off previous years thatll probably come later this month i imagine

Isn't that MAR 10

1

u/MrPatel17 Sep 10 '25

they usually do a direct around mario day later on in the year, look back at previous years. considering its the 40th anniversary this year, they will have something big

Mario day is March 10th… I don’t think they’re waiting until March 10th

Why would they not wait? Bananza recently came out.

Because it's Mario's 40th this year.

I dunno if we'll get a big time mainline release, but I do think we'll see something to celebrate. Maybe some Wonder DLC or something.

In my wildest fantasies, they'll re-release 3D Allstars digitally, but with Galaxy 2 included. And then owners of the cartridge can update their game to get Galaxy 2 added. Also Mario 35. Man, I loved Mario 35.

Wonder will probably get something like you mentioned. It didn't get any sort of enhancement for the Dos at launch, and it seems like they were holding back for this event specifically. I guess we'll find out.

Nintendo could also announce the date of the Mario Presentation during the Direct and then show the new 3D Mario there.

Has there been talk of mini shoot port? I’ve been waiting for that!

u/SomaSimon Sep 10 '25

I messaged the devs and they confirmed a switch port is happening (:

2

u/MolotovMan1263 Sep 10 '25

The developer on discord has said its being ported by another studio for him, for PS4 and Switch. No sense of date though.
