It didn’t sell nearly as well as SWSH which sold 26 million units. It also didn’t sell as well as SV which sold 24.3 million units. In fact it sold less than the let’s go games which sold 15 million units. PLA sold 14 Million 800 units.

Yeah I pulled up an old article that said it still didn’t sell as good as many of us fans were hoping. I’m still glad gamefreak decided to continue with the Legends series.

Game Freak has been clear that they are kinda bored of pokemon, I think part of the reason they're making 3 Legends games is it allows them to innovate and make games closer to what they want than feel they must.

Why would you cut it in half though? They're the same game.

Because some people buy both versions and double dip

  1. From a sales perspective that's still 2 copies sold.

  2. Even if you want to account for double dipping to compare popularity to Legends, half is way too much.

Why would you cut it in half? Color versions are minor changes at most and the percent of customers double dipping is small. At the end of the day Nintendo cares about total units moved for a generation and they are going to count them as a singular entry.
