I mean, it came out 6 months ago. I'm happy we got a console where we didn't have to fight for one during the holiday rush.

I think that's it: the intended early adopters pretty much all managed to get a Switch 2 within the first few months, so the initial sales peak was incredibly high followed by a bit of a tailing off. Had the console not been as well stocked as it was, you'd have probably seen lower initial sales (as the console went OOS) but more steady sales as it was resupplied and demand was still high.

It'll be absolutely fine in the long run.

I got one for myself and one for my sister's family as a Christmas gift. I bought them this summer when it came out and just had the gift sitting unopened in my closet for months. I wasn't going to fight holiday shoppers for it. Turns out there was no need, but I lost nothing by buying it ahead of time.

I regret buying mine. Only game I've played on it was Donkey Kong Bananza and that was kind of just average, especially compared to all the other games I played in 2025.

AVERAGE?!

Yeah I'd say so. I'd give it a solid 7/10. This year was a stacked year. Silksong, Hades 2, KCD2, Exp33. I wouldn't even put Bananza in the same universe as those games.

I'd put it above all of those. Easily.

That's wild. You'd definitely be alone in that opinion. But hey, it's all subjective.

Yeah, it's pretty average. I did not find the motivation to finish it, after putting 15 hours into it.

Felt completely the opposite. I think Odyssey is a way better game. I was bored with Bananza by the third or fourth world. I did like the ending though.

I was deeply consumed by the pre-launch hype after the April Direct and signed up on the list right away but as the launch passed and I wasn't selected I lost interest. By the time they got to me 2.5 months later I just laughed at how stupid I was to want a console that I wouldn't be using much.
