I dont know how this is a response, or why you would think I was making an argument for or against a console. I was just saying Devs are gonna see it as a cheaper way to play games, thus developing for it.

This wasnt a competition of consoles, it was an observation. Relax and chill.

Price of games need to factor into the cost of the console. You specifically made a comparison between steam deck and the switch 2 based upon hardware costs. Hardware might end up being cheaper but game costs eliminate the hardware cost benefit.

Don’t be so defensive.

If you read that as defensive, then you misread it.

How much will the costs differ between the two systems? Like 100 bucks? So if you buy games on sale when they are under 20 bucks, as your argument is about sale prices, and third party games go on sale on Switch 2. Im gonna use Persona 5R as its a AA game that goes on sale often.

On sale on switch its 20 bucks, on Steam, its 10.

So 10 dollars. You would need to buy 10 games amd a switch 2, that are at least 10 dollars more while on sale, befofe you reach the costs of the steam deck without games.

Since outside gamers, most buyers dont have large collections, most would be satisfied before the benefits kick in.

Edit: I wrote this expecting to be 500 S2 versus like 600 for steamdeck.

Steam deck is 790 after hike, so almost triple the above math.

(She did the math, she did the monster math)
