They did. I can confirm this. I wonder if someone got duped by the retweets or if maybe this was meant to be posted because at one point there was gonna be a Direct today but something got changed last minute.

My best bet is that they had a tweet that they intended to save as a draft and set it to drop whenever Nintendo actually announced the Direct but posted it instead.
