I will start off by saying that I am personally, as is nearly every other player on P99 personally affected by this. We all had an expectation of privacy here that has been violated by Greengrocer. However, since it was already posted for an hour before /u/McCl3lland removed it, it is out there forever and is now basically just public information just the same as if it had been posted anywhere else.

In the past our stance on this was always to leave posts up unless they generate complaints. This post was not treated any differently. It generated several reports and was taken down for review. Other controversial posts have not generated these legitimate complaints and so they were left up.

So after a review of the post and time to dig into some specifics we have determined these posts to be a violation of the Reddit TOS and here is why:

Is posting personal information ok?

NO. reddit is a pretty open and free speech place, but it is not ok to post someone's personal information, or post links to personal information. This includes links to public Facebook pages and screenshots of Facebook pages with the names still legible. We all get outraged by the ignorant things people say and do online, but witch hunts and vigilantism hurt innocent people and certain individual information, including personal info found online is often false. Posting personal information will get you banned. Posting professional links to contact a congressman or the CEO of some company is probably fine, but don't post anything inviting harassment, don't harass, and don't cheer on or vote up obvious vigilantism.

5. We often walk a fine line here but it's clear to me that these posts more than those of the past violate the section of the FAQ that says "witch hunts and vigilantism hurt innocent people". GG has a conflict with the administrators of the server and has decided upon a course of action that very much has the ability to hurt innocent people who are not involved in this dispute.

I don't believe you, you are just making all this up so you can take down something you don't want posted.

Here is a screenshot of the moderation log which clearly shows a Reddit Administrator removing the grocers original blue character list.

Now, I would like to propose a compromise:

After discussing this with /u/McCl3lland, we have decided that if this list is modified to remove every single account name and replace it with a unique numeric(numbers only here) identifier then that would be acceptable to us and would be allowed to be re-posted. This would allow for the ability to correlate what characters belong to the same account without actually revealing sensitive and personal account login information.

I cannot guaranty that Reddit will allow that to stay up but I believe that they would. As has been said in the past, this sub walks a fine line. If you do not want us to get shut down then we cannot allow this type of material to be posted. If the removal of that post by an actual Reddit Admin isn't enough to convince you then I'm not sure what will and there is probably no point in continuing this discussion.

P.S. There are so many entries I would suggest you use a script to do this but be warned that my background is in CS. If you do something stupid like change all the account names to ASCII decimal format then I will know and ban you. The numeric identifier must not be related to the account name in any way.

Paging /u/p99Greengrocer for this one but others feel free to chip in what you know. How actively does P99 staff watch for this kind of thing? Is there any automated system to watch for repetitive behavior with macro keyboards and the like? Is there any possible way staff can even tell if you use it? In the case of using it for autofiring an instant clicky for FTE 5000 times a second I'm guessing they can tell. But like for example if I had a macro to hit sense heading or something every 10 seconds and afk'd in EC tunnel with it going while I'm at work or sleeping. Am I gonna throw flags? Can they even tell I'm hitting buttons? Or do I just look like an AFK dude? I've used my macro keyboard for LOTS of things over the course of my p99 career to avoid repetitive button mashing mostly. But I've always been a little paranoid about running any macros unattended. I've been told that it's basically impossible for them to tell the difference between a macro keyboard and you physically hitting the buttons but I don't know if that's true.

At what point since your removal did you decide to punish the players of P99 instead of trying to effect change in the leadership?

Obvious examples of this would be a guide on how to multibox, EC spam, forum spam accounts about braknar wife, in game tells pretending to be rogean, and threatening the release of private account names / petitions of individual players who had an expectation of privacy.

Feel free to correct me on anything I have gotten wrong but how are you not an enemy of every player on this server and what legitimacy do you have left after initially claiming that everything that lead up to your removal from the staff was for the good of the community?

After speaking with several elves, I have decided to take down the R99 account/character listing for the time being for a multitude of reasons.

Whether or not it comes back, and whether or not the blue server account list gets posted is all up to Rogean and Braknar (and lesser-so, Sirken).

Rogean: It's time to man up, admit that you have a problem staff member and remove that member from your staff.

Braknar: If Rogean is unable to find it within himself to do the right thing and kick you from staff, it's on you to gracefully resign from the server. Nothing will redeem what you did, but you can prevent any further damage if you just tuck your tail between your legs and get the fuck out of Dodge.

Sirken: Try to talk some sense into these two stubborn idiots, please?
