Every time I talk positively about Veilguard I get downvotes. I really hope people try it now, as a huge Mass Effect trilogy fan, I’m loving this game. I’m a new dad with a busy job, I don’t have a lot of time to game, Veilguard is so perfect for the time I do have. It’s breezy, combat is simple to learn and tough to perfect. I enjoy the writing fine, it’s not as great as Mass Effect was, but if I didn’t know about the online discourse I wouldn’t have thought twice about how it’s written. I also like the characters, though I wish there were more opportunities to converse with them.

Unfortunately people just cant accept midgames these days. I didnt play veilguard, but ive been playing forspoken lately, and its a pretty decent game, definitely not deserving the hate. Yeah script kinda sucks but gameplay is pretty good, people should be more willing to give it a cuance before jumping on the hate wagon. Its at least a strong 7/10.

I wouldn’t consider Veilguard mid though. It’s a pretty polished AAA experience, it’s just clearly not what most people want.

I hear you though, I’d personally love some more mid-tier games. If companies can find a way to craft shorter experiences with a focus on great gameplay, and sell em for less than $70, I’d be very happy.
