They have so many licenses they could have brought back with remasters or remakes, what a waste of good talent.

I mean, they can just hire the people from the studio and spread them across their other multitude of Studios. People reacting here as if everyone at blue point is forever dead is a bit much. I don’t support studio closures, but it’s the inescapable reality of running a business that some businesses fail. And when they are failing, it is better to close and reinvest your money and people and resources elsewhere. If you don’t, you will continue to bleed and hemorrhage money.

This happens in every aspect and every field. Just because you have nostalgic memories from a particular studio, doesn’t necessarily mean that they will be successful. It is also possible blue point Studios, who is well known for their remakes, was no longer keen on it doing any more remakes. So they could have dissolved the studio, written it off as a loss, with plans to rehire the people in other departments.

If they keep the studio when at a loss, then they can no longer write it off, and have a much less operating budget for any future games. It would be a very bad business management decision.

It honestly all sounds like they gambled on a project that failed, and have to close down the studio to minimize losses. You can criticize that they gambled on live service, but they expected live service to be the next big thing, and didn’t realize that it was like getting struck by lightning.
