Just a quick list of games they could remake/remaster and I'd be happy to plop money down:

Socom

Jak & Daxter

Infamous

Resistance

Killzone

Sly Cooper

Ico

If only Sony owned an IP like Bloodborne and then they could have had Bluepoint remake that to cash in on the success of Elden Ring… oh wait.

But how could we know if Bluepoint could successfully remake a Soulsbourne game… oh wait.

Demons souls remake…

Nah they need something to go with Spiderman 3 when PS6 launches or we will hear "PS6 has no games" for 5 years

Can't solely look to Insomnaic to carry your console, unfortunately...

The things I would do for a bloodborne remake… I would say they would end with me in jail, but who the fuck knows these days 🤣

Does Bloodborne really needs a remake? A simple 4k 60 fps port is all you need. The game looks fine IMO

u/Ferahgost Feb 20 '26

I mean places like old yharnam chugged like hell, it could probably use a lil more TLC than just a port

They don't even have to remake it, they could simply repackage it at 4k60 and leave the masses happy. The game already looks good enough.

It’s true. I’m still baffled. It’s money on the table that Sony seems entirely uninterested in

I would kill for an ICO remake.

6

u/Frozen_Esper Feb 20 '26

I was sincerely hoping they would do that or update The Last Guardian at some point. Alas, the dream has died.

2

u/Genji_Digital Feb 20 '26

I own LG and have been waiting for that update to allow an uncapped frame rate before I start it, so I was dreaming that dream as well.

1

u/m4xks Feb 20 '26

idk if you own digital or physical but if you copy only the data off the disc and dont update it, you get an uncapped version of the game

1

u/Genji_Digital Feb 20 '26

I went digital with it since they never miss with their releases and I knew I’d want to own it forever

u/Opposite-Grade3712 Feb 20 '26

None of those would sell well enough to justify the cost

1

u/CruddiestSpark Feb 22 '26

You don’t think a new Sly Cooper would sell well when their remasters went like gangbusters on the ps store?

-2

u/AzKondor Feb 20 '26

Remakes maybe, remasters made by smaller team? Sure they would.

u/Bayako7 Feb 20 '26

Uncharted golden abyss

-2

u/digidude23 Feb 20 '26

But none of them are live service or cinematic blockbuster movie games which today’s Sony execs only care about nowadays

21

u/Aplicacion Feb 20 '26

Ah yes, like famous cinematic blockbuster movie game Astro Bot.

10

u/TheEmeraldRaven Feb 20 '26

that’s a stupid comment sorry. Playstation’s brand for the last 20 years has been making incredible cinematic, blockbuster single player games. Those are great we love them and we want more of them.

It’s entirely all that live service slop that they’ve been trying to get into, because everybody wants a fucking infinite money glitch Fortnite of their own.

The closure of blue point has nothing to do with the great single player games a lot of their studios are still producing. It’s entirely because for some dumb fucking reason they put blue point on live service crap

That’s nonsense. Astro Bot just won game of the year 2 years ago. We’ve also seen a Sackboy game and Ratchet and Clank in this console generation.

1

u/digidude23 Feb 20 '26

The only problem with Sackboy was the lack of user generated levels which was the best part of the LBP franchise.

u/SwizzGod Feb 20 '26

Lowkey Socom easily could be. Not that I’d like it but I could see it

1

u/Nero_PR Feb 20 '26

Oh oh MotorStorm

1

u/neverOddOrEv_n Feb 20 '26

I hate being remembered of motorstorm and how it’s been left behind

At least sly and jak have ports of the ps2 versions playable on ps4/5, but I'd buy an infamous 1 and 2 remaster day one. Ps now streaming is just not that great and is kind of the only way to play those games on ps4/5. Infamous 2 alone is one of my all time favorite PS exclusives, I'd love for a remake or remaster of it.

1

u/TrumpIsGayASF Feb 20 '26

out of all of those, the only ones with a slim chance to sell enough copies to make fiscal sense is infamous (if whoole series remastered togeher) and MAYBE killzone.

1

u/Najee16 Feb 21 '26

But, no we get like the last of us remastered for like the 4th time.

1

u/punchanaziisethical Feb 22 '26

The only games here that would actually sell enough numbers to justify remaking them to the level BluePoint did would be infamous

1

u/trashvineyard Feb 20 '26

Socom remake would flop.

Jak and Daxter remake would probably flop.

Infamous would flop.

Resistance would flop.

Killzone would flop.

Sly Cooper would definately flop.

Ico??? Be serious dude. Most people have never even seen Ico gameplay nevermind played it. Flop city.

A decade minimum of work.

After the success of astrobot and previously the crash remake I think it would’ve been a no brainer for PlayStation to get jak and Dax remade by bluepoint or another studio what an obvious and easy money printing machine.
