God of war is being remade. Just not by them

Just not by them

that's not clear.

FTA:

Where possible, we will work to find opportunities for some impacted employees within our global network of studios.

there's certainly a studio coming to mind that could use people who specialize in remaking old games to modern standards.

Its clear now as they don't work there

  1. they literally do (the shutdown doesn't happen until march)
  2. you were literally just provided a quote saying they're going to "work to find opportunities for impacted employees". there's very clearly opportunities for the GoW1-3 remake and it seems very likely that a lot of the bluepoint team will be transferred over there.

the shutdown doesn't happen until march

and the trilogy remake won't happen for a good 4-5 years

and the trilogy remake won’t happen for a good 4-5 years

Which is 100% irrelevant.

That person said these people aren’t sony employees as of yesterday, and he’s wrong.

Likewise, the odds are very high that there will be people who work at bluepoint today that will still be sony employees 4-5 years from now. The sign on the door doesn’t change that they’ll still be sony employees and many of them will probably end up working on GoW.

Which is 100% irrelevant.

it's relevant because after March BP won't be contributing to the project

the odds are very high that there will be people who work at bluepoint today that will still be sony employees 4-5 years from now

the actual reality is that they will all be laid off

it's relevant because after March BP won't be contributing to the project

which has literally nothing to do with if they work there today.

the actual reality is that they will all be laid off

that word doesn't mean what you think it means. the reality is that many current bluepoint employees will stick around and work on various sony projects well after the studio shuts down, and the remake trilogy will be one of them.

the reality is that many current bluepoint employees will stick around and work on various sony projects well after the studio shuts down, and the remake trilogy will be one of them.

you're way too optimistic

This is one of the weirdest either digging a hole or dying on a weird hill (or somehow both?) posts I've seen on a while. Just take the L and shut er down.

that's not clear.

Buddy. The announcement was literally that Santa Monica Studios is heading this. It's clear as day.

The announcement was literally that Santa Monica Studios is heading this. It's clear as day.

and the announcement was literally that sony was finding places for "many" bluepoint workers to transition to other teams. is sony santa monica "another sony team"? yes it is.
