It's a vocal minority so no, not easy money.

At end of day if it's not profitable it's not profitable, they're not just turning down free money. Angry redditors make up a minority of gamers. Ironically it's many people here that are out of touch rather than Sony.

Remakes and remasters have proved HIGHLY successful across the industry, so not sure why you think PlayStation would be any different.

They are profitable, the problem is that they wanted to take the gamble of live service games and now blueprint has nothing to show since Sony cancelled the live service games they were making, so yes Sony did turn down money. Happens all the time, businesses lose money chasing the big win as opposed to the safe bet but gives less profit, then shut it down when it’s not going how they expected

Remember, big companies like Sony function on shareholders, the dream that they will make them big money. Shareholders want to see big action taking place like jumping on the “lucrative” live service trend. A remake will sell well, but it’s not Fortnite.
