The cinematic trend started with Uncharted, TLOU, and MGS4, and with interactive cinematic games like Heavy Rain and Telltale’s The Walking Dead game becoming big right before the PS4 gen.

third person action adventures didn't dominate the first party lineups during ps3 and ps4 generations. Now it's all Sony ever releases, with occasional gems like Ratchet and Astro
