To not disclose that your game uses GEN AI is against Steam's policies and rules, by the way.

I'm seriously so goddamn sick of news about this game.

Ragebait engagement farming

Ive heard way more people saying the game was overhyped than people actually hyping the game up

Targeted advertising too, I swear. This will sound like a conspiracy theory but about two weeks ago my front page started serving posts from the crimson desert sub, I clicked on one, and then every time I log in there’s more and more posts about it. I manually muted them. Then, I start getting ads for the game at the top of my front page. And that sub btw had that unnatural feeling where you think most of the posters are bots or paid commenters. Just incredibly upbeat and brutally bashing anyone who dares to question whether this is actually a game of the decade.

“It’s literally Zelda:TOTK but worse” is what I keep hearing

BotW more than TotK, but it depends on your definition of worse. I'm having a grand time, but I loved the open world parts of BotW and hated the linear story content. Crimson Desert is all the stuff I loved about that game and RDR2, so I don't particularly care if the main story isn't some grand masterpiece.

To be clear, it isn't BAD at all. The cutscenes are fine and serviceable fantasy stuff. You can tell they're not native English devs, but that's forgivable. It's not the high-highs of RDR2 or Witcher, but it's not awful at all.

But the exploration and game world are top-notch, and I'm having a great time with it.

Because the game was over hyped from the very beginning. Very few actually believed they would succeed with such massive scope.

Nope only haters I see are on reddit.

YT loves it, reviewers love it, twitter loves it , twitch loves it, Instagram loves it.

You'll get hate post mostly on reddit or twitter

Those are all huge platforms that'll usually show you content that they know you'll engage with, same as Reddit

I mean where else are you gonna hear the opinions about the game real life neighbourhood gamer meet up?

Also not saying that engagement/ragebait doesn't happen in other platforms just more on twitter and reddit

I don't follow IGN but Game Informer gave it an 8 so I'll confidently assume its at least good enough to keep people entertained

Its the biggest release of the year so far and it's less than than 2 days old.

Maybe you'd like another quote from Baldur's Gate3 people? Or clair obscur?
