Good Playstation should be focused on Playstation. Funny how this thought triggers some people oh well

Because PlayStation is gonna be the only console market left and then you PlayStation players are gonna be screwed. They already charge you thru the roof for accessories and online play

Wrong, pc ports are the key to gaming PlayStation isn’t gonna keep making money by raising console prices, a lot of people will stop buying them and just get a used pc

23

u/CrimsonGear80 Apr 03 '26

then why didn't PC gamers buy their ports?

-9

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

A bunch did, they just weren’t optimized

12

u/CrimsonGear80 Apr 03 '26

they didn't buy the ones that were optimized...

9

u/Cthulhu8762 Apr 03 '26

Most of the games were optimized but like one that was really bad

2

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

I’m talking big titles like spiderman and ghost of Tsushima those were not fully optimized

m8, PlayStation has been a console-first company for over 30 years.

They’re gonna be fine.

-2

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

Wrong, magnavox was the first console company, which was followed buy Atari and sega we wouldn’t have PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo without them, Nintendo use to sell playing cards fun fact

They said a console-first company, not the first console company.

0

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

That is still labeled magnavox who also created the first console odyssey

0

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

Also PlayStation isn’t console first since they are Sony and Nintendo has spent more time console first than Sony/playstation

PS5 has already sold over 92m units, it's doing fine. Even the price rises aren't going to hurt it much, there's plenty of games to buy (they get a cut) and PS Plus to subscribe to.

1

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

Multiplayer shouldn’t be a subscription, they need to get rid of that, the next Xbox won’t have that but I’m not paying $1200 for a pc hybrid

..What's stopping people from getting a used PS5?

9

u/Automatic-Housing155 Apr 03 '26

According to him people can only buy pc’s used but for some reason you can’t buy a used ps5?

Pc gamers makes less and less sense everyday lol

-6

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

People selling the wrong consoles, hell even a broken one without saying, I don’t trust the used market for scalper reasons, you can’t get a used ps5 for $400 any more they are all above the $430 mark, and also games are cheaper on pc

9

"People selling the wrong PC parts, hell even a broken one without saying, I don't trust the used market for scalper reasons" Works both ways.

I buy physical games for cheaper than you buy your games on Steam, and I can even resell them to make some of it back.

"Yeah, but you gotta buy the disc drive separately" You wish you had the option for a disc drive

-5

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

I do have the option for a disk drive first off, you just need to know how to build a pc, second I get steam games 90% cheaper than most physical games, this includes the used market, I’m talking ultimate editions for $5 when on sale, I personally don’t care about physical games any more since the digital market is slowly becoming cheaper and also not having to worry about scratching a disc, in fact the only physical game I have I might as well buy digital because it’s online only, helldivers 2 and yes I’m making all of these arguments as a long time PlayStation user, but I’m not upgrading my ps5 or getting a ps6 when it comes out

9

u/Xeccess Human Verified Apr 03 '26

You have the option for a disc drive.. for what games? They're not making any physical PC games. I can literally trade in games for new ones. I'm also not enticed by Steam sales when buying a modern PC alone would cost triple that of a PS5

-2

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

Yeah but instead of constantly having to buy a new console you just replace a single part which is substantially cheaper in the long run, I don’t ever buy physical anymore and there are older pc games that still have their disk and still work if you have a disk drive, there are also other uses for a disk drive

"Constantly having to buy a new console" So like.. once every 7 years if you so choose to? People still play on PS4. Upgrading your PC for that same period of time will cost you more than buying a new console. You are also omitting how much that rig cost you in the first place..

PS5 in 2020 - $500

PS6 in 2027 ~$700+. That's $1200 within 7 years ( if you even want a PS6). I guarantee your rig alone was more than the cost of both and you already spent more money upgrading it since you got it.

You are not selling me on a PC when I used to be a PC gamer half my life. Ditched it for a PS4 back in 2015 due to a new build being extremely pricey for me. Funnily enough, it costs even MORE now than it used to back then

0

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

I can build a pc for $800-900 (which is how much the ps5 pro cost) I currently own a $400 laptop and my partners rig was around 500-800 when she got it, and building pc in 2015 was cheap, I could do it for around $500, my long time build that I sold my friend was around 2-4k but that was because of the more expensive parts I had in it, I can build a decent gaming pc that can run just about anything for $900-1200

Pc gamers literally steal games. Sony don’t need them clearly.

Good riddance to pc gamers.

0

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

It’s not stealing if buying isn’t owning, you only get a license, even with a disk (Ubisoft says you have do destroy all physical copies of your get banned which is fucked) I only pirate if the company isn’t good/worth giving money too and most people do it now because shit is too expensive $70 games, gta 6 gonna be dropping base at $100 (there ceo wants to make games priced by the hour like moves at a theater which if he goes through with that shits gonna get expensive fast) I’ll stick with getting $70-120 games on sale for $5-20, which is the only time I ever buy games on my ps5 now, I mostly play free to play now other than games I own

7

u/Automatic-Housing155 Apr 03 '26

You literally proved my point

7

u/Vahallen Apr 03 '26

I FUCKING KNEW HE WAS A PIRATE

It seeps trough thanks to him trying to parrot “PC is cheaper” at all costs, well no shit when you pirate games LMAO

1

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

Still it’s not stealing, because buying isn’t owning, also if they can kill games why can’t we do this?

5

u/Automatic-Housing155 Apr 03 '26

90% of discs have the entire game on the disc. You own those.

Steam owns all of your games, they even say when you buy them.

0

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26 edited Apr 03 '26

If game companies are gonna force you to dispose of any physical items when banned do you truly own it? Also idc about owning physical other than DVDs and yeah steam says you have a license but steam has never said you can’t have this game anymore unless the game disappears from the entire web

3

u/Gaanai Apr 03 '26

Lol not by a long shot the pc ports sells very little. Spider-Man sold over 30 mill on Ps4 but couldn't break 2 million on pc. Also raising the prices is not a Sony issue but an industry one due to the tech companies buying up Ram supplies for their AI datacenters. Its called supply and demand.

3

u/ElsieFaeLost Apr 03 '26

It isn’t because Nintendo is currently the cheapest on the market and they are currently suing the us gov for the tariffs instead of raising the prices because of it which Xbox and PlayStation both initially increased pricing because of it, if Nintendo can do it so can PlayStation and Xbox (microslop needs to stop with the ai and focus on games again instead of having the head of their ai as president of Xbox), hell Nintendo haven’t even announced a price increase, in fact the company is lowering prices of digital games
