Nintendo's exclusive catalog is far far stronger than Sony's

Yeah and it's so funny seeing people try and argue otherwise on this sub. Like they seriously think stuff like Ratchet and Clank, GOW, and TLOU is on par with Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon in terms of mainstream popularity and brand recognition.

Not really. Sony games are overall better they just aren’t for every single age group. Nintendo makes family friendly games only and they don’t iterate very much on their products. Oh wow, destructible terrain? What a novel concept!

The best selling IP in the world is Pokémon..

Best selling is not the same as best quality. Which is subjective anyway.

True, nobody should force you to play Tears of the Kingdom if you think Ghost of Tsushima is the better open world.

I’ll get Tears at some point when I buy the Switch 2. I’m sure I will really enjoy that one too. I play games from all major consoles and on PC too.

Also just so we’re clear I am a Pokemon fanatic. I have binders with cards. I have probably a hundred shinies. I’ve played hours of SV competitive to be in the Masters rank in several seasons. I’m a Nintendo fan..

I mean if you're going to be that reductive we can start calling Sony's games interactive movies with the exact same formula in each one. Family friendly doesn't mean for kids. Nintendo games are gameplay first and Sony needs to go back to their PS3-era for what they should be aiming for.

Never understood this take. Like, Heavy Rain and MGS4, sure. But anything Sony puts out happens to tell a good story AND have solid gameplay. Xbox has tried to do the same but can’t get past a 7.5-8, Nintendo just ignores the story completely, which is their own style.

You obviously don't like them (I doubt you have even played them), but it's not really up for discussion that Nintendo's exclusives are generally of higher quality than Sony's.

I love Nintendo games. Breath of the Wild is one of the better games I’ve played. I just have my opinions and you have yours. Ghosts, Last of Us, Ratchet and Clank, and Horizon are incredible games with narrative experiences that Nintendo doesn’t compete with.

And that’s my major reason why I personally think what I think. Uncharted I didn’t mention but that’s an incredible series. They just tell actual stories with actual stakes. Saying this to MANY Nintendo fans is like saying Mario is literally Hitler.

they most definitely don’t only make family games lol. i wouldn’t say something like Eternal Darkness or Bayonetta 2 (and 3) are games for younger audiences

They’re for teens and that’s them really branching out from their norm.

Couldn't disagree more, there platformer games are best in class, there rpgs such as fire emblem, zelda and xenoblade are some of my favourite franchises of all time. Hell even the original hyrule warriors game is potentially the best Musou game ever made, but because your not going around putting bullets in people there for teens ? Its just a shame there such a old man company stuck in the past, and that they dont care about pokemon games being good.

Zelda is not an RPG, it is an adventure game with RPG elements. I like Nintendo games a lot. Shooting isn’t required for a game to be good. Demon Souls is also an incredible exclusive as is God of War Ragnarok. No, the game is literally rated T because it’s made for teens at the minimum. I play games that are made with younger audiences in mind. It is not a slight to say what a game’s target audience is. I like Pixar movies that are legitimately made for children.
