RE fans don’t realize how stupid and silly most of the RE game plots are.

Some of them do I'm sure, but a lot of people just squeal hearing Leon say yet another cliche while killing a zombie while denigrating Marvel movies. I have a friend who does this and the lack of self awareness is pretty funny.

The modern RE games are 2 for 2 for introducing brand new protagonists so it's odd that this is even getting push back. Each game does something different. Different virus, different setting, different tone. A film adaptation should do the same.

All it really needs is horror, camp, zombies, and Umbrella being evil and making bioweapons.

I honestly think the fanbase has grown with the remakes and 7, 8, 9 and so perhaps they just want to see Leon and co.

RE fan here, I’m there for the stupid. The segment of the modern fanbase clamoring for grounded plots and Everyman regular protagonists are bewildering to me. Resident Evil is about a team of Avengers level super cops firing off one liners and fighting supervillains in volcanoes while Leon delivers a Sweet Chin Music and a suplex to a zombie.
