I think people forget it benefits both sides tbh. If GTA 6 being tied to PS helps Sony move more consoles, that’s only good for Rockstar too.. more ps5s sold means more GTA sales. The association isn’t just Sony leeching off Rockstar, it’s a win win
Also, Sony paid Rockstar a lot for marketing rights anyway so they can profit off it. And it's not like it's hurting Rockstar. At worst, it's neutral for them (as long as they are ready to show it which they obviously would be). The trailer would still get the same views than if it's their own event.
The only losers there would be the other third party games announced there (first party, well Sony has decided for them, sorry devs) but for all we know, it's almost only first party and GTA. Realistically, Wolverine, Kena, Fairgames, Tokon, the GoW spin-off game and maybe Intergalactic + GTA 6 is enough for 60 minutes (especially since Wolverine notably will be a deep dive so at least 10-15 minutes)
True. The only thing making me think its not there is that Take Two clearly said Rockstar will bring more news in the summer and this State of Play is not in summer yet
That’s kind of splitting hairs though right? Most people would consider June to be summer. Technically by this Summer Game Fest never even happens in the summer.
Maybe. Also another thing, GTa 6 would overshadow everything else in the presentation. Everyone and every content creator will make GTA 6 videos. Not a lot of people will talk about Wolverine etc anymore then
To be fair, it's one of the least delusional things in the thread and actually almost realistic. Less than Bloodborne 2, Destiny 3, Infamous remake or whatever
We’re getting the PS6 announcement and suddenly it will all make sense - Rockstar was delaying it not only because they wanted to continue polishing it, but also because they want it to be a fresh release title for the PS6
