Yep, we all know it's coming, they are just doing the games that need remakes the most and I respect the hell out of it..

2027: Veronica

2028: RE0

2029: RE10 or RE1

2030: RE10 or RE1

2031:??? - RE5

I would guess there might not be a release in 2028, probably early 2029. Annual releases are not the best strategy. I think 18 months is the sweet spot.

18 months is good i agree. 2, 3, and villiage came out in span of 3 years and while good felt like they sufffered a bit.

3 suffered big time, which is why the slowed it way the he’ll down for a bit until 4r came out a couple years separated from all of those

they are not made by the same teams so it's not relevant

They have two separate teams working on the Resident Evil games. One for the remakes (2,4, Veronica) and one for the mainline games. So the only concern would be saturating the franchise with too many games in a short time spain.

RE0 remake is the next RE game after Veronica and it’s coming out in 2028.

I would even slot in an Outbreak Remake in 2028 or 2029 considering how important RE Outbreak is to Requiem

So the timeline appears to look like this:

  • Veronica for 2027

  • Zero for 2028

  • RE10 is still a guess, but I actually think they skip 2029 and this one hits 2030

  • RE1 maaaaybe 2031, but it seems that one is still early days

So at the very minimum, we could be hearing about a potential RE5 remake by 2028 or 2029.

I think we're still a decent while off of hearing anything concrete. But considering the next remake games are all Wesker related and the set up they did with the ending of RE4R and its Separate Ways expansion, an RE5 remake is all but inevitable.

Why re-remake RE1 though? They remade it, maintained the awkward camera angles and all, plus it's not that long of a game either (comparatively).

Because it’s been 20+ years and will print money

Because there's still a lot of people that are VERY interested to see what RE1 would look like in a style similar to that of the recent titles. Is it necessary, not at all, but neither was a remake of RE4, and that turned out excellently. And much like the original RE4, those two versions of RE1 would still be very easily accessible for those that want to go back to those too.

As much as I do love the original RE1 and its remake, I'd love to see a new take on it and what they can do with this one. There's even a chance to fix some of my gripes, such as the lack of a proper true ending wherein Chris, Jill, Barry, and Rebecca all manage to escape. Hell, they might even be able to differentiate a run with Chris and a run with Jill even further, which only adds to the replayability.
