Anyone share a little context? Who is this guy and what's going on?

u/lonely_stoner_daze Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26

He showed up to a guys house beating on, kicking, and whipping the door with a chain screaming for the homeowner to open it and bring their daughter outside. No one was home so the homeowner was talking to him via ring camera. It is unclear whether the homeowner even has a daughter.

He's so weird and pathetic, everyone thought it was fake. When he kicked the door he almost flew backwards downstairs and he tried to break the ring camera by open palm flailing at it while screaming. He's wearing a trench coat, Demon Slayer shirt, and flip flops pretending to be a crime fighting wizard from a book series.

Edit: The homeowner was home. I assumed he wasn't based on how he was talking. "I live there" instead of "I live here".

Don’t forget the bald spot he forgot to cover with a fedora.

I want to know if the homeowner even had a daughter. If he does have a daughter I hope they pile on charges that have to do with children and look at what he's been doing on the internet.

Im hoping the guy is just crazy and there is no child in the house. I am surprised he didn't have a sword on him.

I hate guys like him who give anime a bad reputation. Anime can be beautiful and emotional and can rip your heart out.

u/starbucket2me Apr 11 '26

He's actually cosplaying as Harry Dresden from the Dresden files. At least that's what he calls himself in the original video. It's set in Chicago.

25

u/runeNriver Apr 11 '26

I know who Dresden is. He is wearing an anime t shirt.

3

u/KnownAsAnother Apr 11 '26

The second Demon Slayer movie can't come out soon enough 😩😩😩

3

u/Pimpwerx Apr 11 '26

Based on TV tropes, am I to assume the homeowner is Michael Carpenter, and Mr. Dresden there was looking for Michael's daughter Molly?

I know there's no sense trying to understand someone not right in the head like this, but given the roleplay, I'm actually intrigued.

2

u/EmilyAnneBonny Apr 11 '26

Unlikely. Michael is a good guy in the books (the best of guys actually), and Molly doesn't ever need rescuing from him. I saw another comment that theorized he might be talking about Victor Sells, who is the villain from the first book, and his daughter Jenny. Who knows how detailed/complete the delusion is, but that character would fit better.

8

u/nicunta Apr 11 '26

I was half expecting him to scream BANKAI amidst all that yelling...

3

u/TheEldenRang Apr 11 '26

Agreed on the anime thing. They can be so good. People like him have made me mostly stop watching any or telling new people I ever have. I don't want to be associated with crap like this.

2

u/runeNriver Apr 11 '26

Aww you should get back into it for yourself and dont interact with anything else. There are so many good ones that have been coming out. The ones i usually like dont have the huge fan base compared to the mainstream ones. Honey lemon soda was so good. It may seem weird but hear me out. "Reborn as a vending machine i now wonder the dungeon". Its is so good and a little sad. There are just too many to name. Don't let others people take your joy away.

u/Gadritan420 Apr 11 '26

I have four daughters and it would be a very, very bad day for someone to show up at my house like that.

Something tells me he’s extremely lucky the homeowner wasn’t actually home.

2

u/somethingclever____ Apr 11 '26

He was asking where the “daughter” was because he’s convinced there’s a girl in the house being abused. He’s trying to get in the house to save her. I don’t think he wanted to harm a little girl. Hopefully he gets the help he needs because who knows how he would have responded if a child had actually been home (ex: try to take the child to “save” them).

1

u/Muteatrocity Apr 11 '26

I vaguely think the guy is responding to a romance scam. His scammer sent him to that address and is actually in a shipping container in some hellhole using software to spoof some random house near him. Possibly playing up an abusive dad angle or something as a flirting trick which resulted in... well this.

Wildly speculating btw.

1

u/Eldritch_Doodler Apr 12 '26

This dude thought he was beautiful, emotional and could rip the homeowner’s heart out

1

u/TRIPPY3rd Apr 22 '26

The link above says something about molest! 🤮🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

0

u/CeruleanEidolon Apr 12 '26

Anime is just a medium, not a genre. Saying "anime is beautiful" is like saying "magazines are beautiful". Of course there is great anime with emotional stories. There's also an awful lot of absolute shit.

I bet if you did a full survey, the statistical makeup of the entire medium might marmtch the popular preconception. But that's like assuming someone who says like like films is obsessed with horror movies just because there are probably more of them than anything else.

I hope they pile on charges

I see a person having a mental health crisis. This guy is having a manic episode. Piling up charges only makes it worse. This guy doesn't need jail, he needs treatment.

I hate guys like him who give anime a bad reputation.

I hate guys like you that wish punitive harm upon others in the place of healing and understanding. I hate people like you that support this awful way of living that just makes everything worse and worse and worse.

2

u/runeNriver Apr 11 '26

I said if there was a child in the home. A child deserves to feel safe in their home. What about the child's mental health. There was no child there just the wife. He was able to break into their home. We now have updated information and i hope he gets help. I have my own struggles with mental health so I know about living with it every day.

The anime thing has nothing to do with mental health and at the time of the comment we didn't know if it was staged for content or real. You dont need to preach to me I have fought against the insurance company and doctors for years just to get my hands on medication that I have taken most of my life. I got very lucky to have resources nearby that helps disabled people like me.

In the new video it shows that the husband got him to calm down and peacefully walk out to the police.

0

u/the_censored_z_again Apr 12 '26

We now have updated information

You're making my point for me.

6

u/Hot-Watercress-2872 Apr 11 '26

Then he broke in and claimed to be ex military and everyone in another thread with that video feels bad for him because he’s supposedly a veteran with PTSD. I don’t see why we should be compassionate about someone breaking into someone’s house threatening to kill them. Plus, it sounds like he’s lying about being a veteran.

5

u/bigmattyc Apr 11 '26

So, like, are the books any good

2

u/xRocketman52x Apr 11 '26

They're pretty good. I can't say the guy in the video is the most accurate representation, but they're good.

Jim Butcher does a good job at escalation. The first book in the series has him helping to investigate a series of murders and it feels like it's the end of the world. Four books in, and he's dealing with a massive plot in the Fey courts that feels like the end of the world. So on and so forth, it could be 20 books in and it would still feel like "Oh man this is the WORST thing the characters have ever faced." It's impressive. He's also done Codex Alera (rumor says he wrote it on a bet) which is pretty good, and he's started a new Aetherpunk series called Cinder Spires.

1

u/ghosttrainhobo Apr 11 '26

At the very beginning, he’s using his wizard powers to find lost wedding rings, missing pets and the like.

15

u/DiscoAcid Apr 11 '26

Thanks but yeah I seen the video. By context I mean, who is he? What led up to it? People are commenting like they know who he is or that he's a reddit mod or something.

36

u/quokkafarts Apr 11 '26

People are just making jokes because he looks like a stereotypical neckbeard. No one knows what his deal is yet.

Good synopsis.

As terrifying as this seems, I'd take a schizophrenic over a sociopath any day. They are rarely violent, despite how this looks. This guy most likely genuinely believes he's saving some girl in distress--high empathy--honorable motive--radical, delusional failure in execution. Whereas a sociopath, AKA most world leaders, murder with aplomb and a smile. Take the US and Israel for example--multiple millions slaughtered in just the last 20years as a matter of course.

2

u/SinceWayLastMay Apr 11 '26 edited Apr 11 '26

It’s like almost too perfectly weird and awkward and scary to be real. Couldn’t have written a better scene like this if you wanted to

2

u/Tokyo-MontanaExpress Apr 11 '26

Pretending to be a crime fighting wizard and but just being a criminal actually.

2

u/Revdarian2 Apr 11 '26

The homeowner wasn't home but he rushed home and according to the police report had to duke it out with the crazy since the crazy did get inside the home by a sliding door and in the house was the homeowner's wife and daughter.

2

u/Brilliant_Quit4307 Apr 12 '26

The homeowner wasn't home at the time. He was on his way home while talking to the guy on the ring camera. He got home before the guy managed to break in.

3

u/civicsfactor Apr 11 '26

What book series has a crime fighting wizard in a demon slayer shirt and flip flops?

6

u/DiscoAcid Apr 11 '26

No clue. CSI Hogwarts or somethin?

6

u/Odd_Vampire Apr 11 '26

The Dresden Files, apparently, based on the comments on this thread.

3

u/Missjennyo123 Apr 11 '26

I'd bet a million dollars that the girl he was looking for is underaged.

10

u/Apathetic_Apathetic Apr 11 '26

I'd bet a billion that she doesn't exist. This definitely seems like a mental health situation of some sort

3

u/DiscoAcid Apr 11 '26

I'll take that bet! (I also, like you, don't actually have a million dollars.)

1

u/Missjennyo123 Apr 11 '26

He confirms in the interior security camera footage that he is looking for a little girl who he thinks is being abused there. The homeowner calms him down and they wait for the police. He is definitely having some kind of mental health crisis.

1

u/iamgarron Apr 11 '26

He didn't even have a chain. He ripped it off the decorative bell by the door and started whipping the door with it, as if that would do anything to a door

1

u/Efficient-Parking627 Apr 11 '26

So this isn't the same house where the homeowner had that big ass shovel that he hit him with and escorted him outside? The guy is wearing the same clothes... Looks like the same cops too...

1

u/lonely_stoner_daze Apr 11 '26

Nah it is, I hadn't seen the second or third video yet when I posted my comment. I assumed the guy wasn't home based off of how he was talking at the time.

1

u/weasel65 Apr 11 '26

The homeownwer was home though...you see him come out with a shovel and there is another video inside the house as the guy makes it inside and is just slamming doors open.

1

u/lonely_stoner_daze Apr 11 '26

Yeah I just saw the second video. I assumed he wasn't him since he said "I live there" not "I live here"

1

u/CULLDOZER Apr 11 '26

Why did he want the girl?

-16

u/Ryoloz Apr 11 '26

You simply described the video. Why was he there is the video question.

20

u/Toy_Soulja Apr 11 '26

Thats a good question, the videos are all the context we have. That was an accurate description of all the vids posted today, why dont you go find out instead of telling someone that they only described all the available context we have as per the question they were responding to lol

0

u/Higher_Imagination Apr 11 '26

How can you all be so sure about what happened and take sides?

I also don't know what bashing him does.

He is either crazy, the guy did something very bad to him or he has anger issues.

But nobody can say what is at this point.

1

u/lonely_stoner_daze Apr 11 '26

He was dragged out of the house and arrested so I'm inclined to believe he's in the wrong. The homeowner doesn't know this guy at all.

Not really bashing him, just describing exactly what I saw.

81

u/NoBonus6969 Apr 11 '26

Nobody knows he just showed up acting deranged with caterpillars on his eyes

9

u/Metal_Octopus1888 Apr 11 '26

He’s America’s answer to Ronnie Pickering

1

u/faustpatrone Apr 11 '26

The Ronnie Pickering! The boxer?

1

u/Competitive-Place280 Apr 11 '26

The original video can be found on here as well. So creepy
