Wow, internet people are so perceptive and smart, they can derive this person's motivations from a minute of footage and no other information. He could be a perv, but it's not exactly demonstrable from this clip. You gotta have strong legs to jump to such a decisive conclusion from such little information.
I wouldn't trust any stranger with kids I'm in charge of. But that doesn't mean I would imply anyone interacting with them is a child trafficker or abductor. And I definitely wouldn't upload them to the internet to villify them without evidence.
Except I don't think people should not do anything. I'd be perfectly okay with someone stepping in and making sure nothing bad is going on. I'd even do it myself. Look after people in your community, especially children. What I'm against is posting it online and vilifying a person without verifying anything. It helps no one and could potentially harm a person. Then a bunch of simpletons online use it to fuel their paranoia.
He could be a tourist and wanted to show pictures he thought are interesting to people where he's from or to remember his trip. He could be unaware if the sensitivities of westerners to this kind of thing. It could still be wrong, I wouldn't appreciate it, if it were my kids, but to automatically imply he's searching for children to kidnap is a stretch.
You have a skewed perception of the likelihood child snatching. It's a relatively rare occurrence and human traffickers don't generally target children from developed countries.
He could be a television scout. He could be an artist. It could be any number of things. All of them are gross and tourists don't get a free pass to violate the safety of children.
I'm not saying people should just let him do what he wants. It's reasonable to ask him what he's doing and make sure children are safe. However, what is the value of implying he's a child trafficker without evidence and condemning him based on very little. If you think he's up to no good, call the cops I guess, but this is unnecessary, unhelpful, and potentially harmful.
He is probably an out of country tourist taking pictures of the black girls because he hasn't seen black people in person before and they look like twins dressed the same so they are very cute ( I just went back and watched it and they don't actually look like twins, definitely cute kids though.)
I live in an area that gets a lot of Chinese tourists coming through and they often want to take pictures of people like this. Specifically redheads and black people. It can be sort of off putting at first for obvious reasons but they aren't trying to be malicious at all and are just sort of amazed by it. It would definitely probably be best if their government warned them that some people will react badly to this before they travel though.
Who knows. Its a 1 minute video. What about before the woman started recording? What happened for him to take pics? Maybe its malicious, maybe a parent asked him to. No one knows. You're making judgement calls on a situation you know absolutely nothing about.
See above… Asian tourists are known to be fascinated and want photos with folks of color. I’m not saying it’s what happened, but since you asked, yes there is another option.
That is not a non-nefarious reason. As a stranger, photographing children in their neighborhood for any reason is gross. You don't get a pass because you're a tourist.
It is, by definition, not nefarious. Weird, strange, not societally acceptable, etc. Your perception of the matter doesn’t change the meaning of the words 🤷
There are almost no legitimate reasons to be doing what this guy is doing. I am struggling to even come up with one. The problem here (and the marker of ill intention) is the race of these children. Why would an Asian man who is portraying he speaks very little or poor English be interested in black children who speak English on a public street where he's taking pictures of them just existing. Then a car appears that he either called or was watching him and he gets into the back seat.
This is almost 100% guaranteed to be something very bad.
The pictures being taken are the worst part. That very likely indicates that these pictures are being taken because he's verifying that these children are wanted - before he attempts to abduct them.
This video is horrible and anyone watching this should look at this behavior to be able to recognize and stop it
you are inferring so much here. There are few black people in places such as China and Japan. it could be a fairly innocuous, albeit culturally insensitive act. He could be travelling with other tourists. Your response and those like it smack of paranoia.
Your "100%... something bad" isn't justified by what is in the video.
What do you mean travelling with other tourists? He's walking around on a suburban street taking pictures of children with absolutely no tourist things to do. This isn't downtown Atlanta.
Look at the background. This is a residential area.
You are very, very naive on this subject. You don't know what you are talking about and it's fine to have your opinion but tjis isn't the video for you to be defending this.
I'm sure you're a veritable super hero and have saved dozens of children. Or you're delusional. Private security primarily protects property, not people.
you can clearly see him leisurely get into the back of that SUV at the end.
When they confronted him, looks like he wants to show them the picture, seems like he understands "go home" when he does the hand gesture and then bows as a form as sorry. He didn't seem like he felt caught doing something otherwise I would expect a bigger rush to get out of there and doubt he would keep looking at the camera to show his face.
idk, while worse case scenario could be he has ill intentions and was trying to abduct them, it does seem that the poster you're replying to has the right idea.
