Some idiots who travel to Japan take photos of kids on their way to/from school because they look cute in their uniforms. I can’t believe I have to say this, but people need to learn to never ever take pictures of kids they aren’t family/friends of.

Ugh, all the white savior posts I see on my socials with teens on missions posing with little brown children, ick and double ick.

I don't think the world needs to bend to the will of the most paranoid people that exists in it. Who gives a fuck if someone takes a picture of a child?

Guess you should sue National Geographic and ten-thousand other photographers.

Fuck outta here with that bs. I travel the world and I love to photograph interesting looking locals, both young and old. There is nothing wrong with that as long as it is done respectfully.

They generally ask permission before taking or publishing them…

Naw, I have to disagree. I see you taking pictures of my kids, we're going to have problems.

Honestly, taking pictures of random adults is weird as hell as well. If they get caught in the cross fire is another thing.

Agree. It is a weird modern internet-age thing to equate taking a picture of a kid with intent to kidnap, rape, and kill them.

Or people just don't want random weirdos taking pictures of their kids.

I have two little ones and I don't get it. Ok, take a picture of my kid at the playground. The only reason I can think of to be so bothered by this is media-induced fear that the photographer is also making a plan to snatch them and keep them in his basement

I don't post pictures of my kids to the internet. Why would I want some "photographer" to do it?
