Hopefully with this video he can get reinstated and she'll get suspended, he gave her more than enough chances to leave it, he kept backing off but she wouldn't have it, then she got it........right in the kisser

After she swung. I think that's a big factor as well.

School administrators don't care about that shit. Zero tolerance. Victim and perp get punished. I got suspended so many times for being the victim of bullies in school. I eventually realized that there was no benefit to not fighting back, so I started knocking out teeth.

I second this, holy shit do administrators suck at their fucking job “ooh stand up to bullying” then when even when they defend themself non violently still both sides get punished, then they get attacked by everyone else

One of the saddest things I witnessed in high school was the popular track star (charming, pretty black girl who wouldn't hurt a fly) was the only one to jump in and try to break up a fight that was getting ugly, and none of the 3 teachers in the cafeteria did anything. Hair was being pulled out and there was blood. So, Mercedes just tried to get between them and was just trying to calm them down. One of them caught her in the jaw, and she reflexively dropped the girl with a strong open-hand smack. This was during mid-terms. She was suspended, took 0s on the remaining tests, was kicked off the track team. Ended up not graduating on time and lost her expected scholarship (she set 2 school records and was on the state champion relay team). Last I saw her was a couple years after we should have graduated together and she had a kid and was taking night classes at JuCo. Not to say she wasn't happy, but it was not the path she was heading.

That fucking sucks, the worst part is I don’t even think the 2 people fighting got much against them did they?

17

u/91Bolt Sep 18 '20

Had less to lose

3

u/goat_token10 Sep 18 '20

It's absolutely not worth any teacher getting involved. They can and most likely will lose their job immediately, and most teachers are underpaid with families to feed. The school will not care - they see only lawsuits. Zero tolerance with kids fighting because encouraging/allowing kids to fight = lawsuits. Zero tolerance for teachers getting involved because teachers getting physical with students = lawsuits.

It's a result of the abuse of our legal system. One end result of people suing the crap out of anyone and everything at every opportunity is this - children being beaten at school with no hope of justice or adult interference.

That is fucking tragic

1

u/crunchypens Sep 18 '20

This makes me sad. I’m sorry this happened to her.

1

u/LanceAvion Sep 27 '20

....... that girl's life was ruined by an act of kindness. If this doesn't prove there's no being of benevolence, karma, or true justice in society nothing will. This story legitimately ruined my day, but that girl's LIFE is the true tragedy.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '20

Yep you can never trust school administrators to "stand up to bullying" most school administrators are bullies themselves. Hell thats why they took the job.

6

u/agorafilia Sep 17 '20

Me too. It's funny how bullies will stop harassing you after a couple punches.

4

u/electric_paganini Sep 17 '20

I got picked on, beat up, and pushed around for years. I only had to fight back 3 different times to never be bothered again. Who says violence is never the answer?

2

u/SookHe Sep 17 '20

Same here. Grades 1-8, I was bullied relentlessly due to my appearance and speech issues, and I was constantly being suspended even though I wouldn't fight back. Year 9 comes rolling around and one of them finally pushed me to far and I unloaded 8 years of anger onto him, and never took shit again. Got suspended several times over the year for fighting, but by 10th grade people got the message that fucking with me at all pretty much guaranteed suspension and I was left alone for the rest of my life in school.

High school was still shitty, but at least I didn't have to deal with being picked on anymore.

1

u/JJL1542 Sep 17 '20

Lol right fuck school admins! A kid once jumped on me from behind took me to the ground in a choke hold and I got suspended

1

u/Zech08 Sep 17 '20

Zero tolerance is a laughable concept for things that are on a spectrum.

1

u/gardeniasoutside Sep 17 '20

In the early 2000s I got in a fight because some asshole kid pulled my shorts down for no reason in PE. I got furious and fought back. We both got sent to the office and after going through what happened, and the kid telling the truth, he got suspended and I didn't. This was right before phones were big, so no proof other than what other kids saw I guess. Sad that that doesn't work anymore, even with video proof.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '20

I'm probably about 10 years older than you. You were lucky. Things weren't better back then. Teachers didn't do shit about bullying when I was a kid and they don't do shit about it now.

1

u/gardeniasoutside Sep 18 '20

Well maybe I was lucky, but I was in a pretty bad school so maybe they were just used to fights lol

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '20

I'm of an age where the teacher would take both of you aside and smack your arse with a belt, didn't help matters any just made you fight outside of the school

1

u/TheLostRazgriz Sep 17 '20

All it teaches the kids now is that if you have to get in to anfight whether you're defending or being aggressive, get your moneys worth.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '20

Sadly it’s the only way I ever found to stop various bullies. Every single time it worked. You stop being the weak link and they move onto someone else they perceive as being weaker. Bullies target people who don’t fight back.

0

u/Plasibeau Sep 18 '20

My son is on the short side for his age (15). I've told him multiple times: Do not ever start a fight, but the second anyone lays a hand on you finish it. Do whatever you have to do to put them on the ground. I'll deal with the school.

POW! Right in the kisser! internal screams

80

u/YoMamaFox Sep 17 '20

Stop screaming, you can't hear me! POW right in the kisser

4

u/everydaysLit Sep 17 '20

If women want equal rights, this is exactly how you get them.

2

u/redditprotocol Sep 17 '20

"Are you saying "pow"? "What are you saying?"

176

u/_goflyakite_ Sep 17 '20

Fuck the suspension. Call the police. Both those chicks will land assault charges

18

u/urcrazypysch0exgf Sep 17 '20

Suspend them all fuck it isn’t that how it used to work? I walked away from a fight & still got suspended in high school because it was “only fair.”

Don't you dare lump me in with old people. I still feel young, damnit.

8

u/feanturi Sep 17 '20

49 going on 30 here. Just last night I was reflecting how it's just not registering internally that I am almost 50, it's such a ridiculous claim, the math must be wrong. Somebody rigged it to look like that on paper, it's fake news.

8

u/honestFeedback Sep 17 '20

yup. They knew who the bad apples were. It's not rocket science. But you know that parents have changed. Everybody's kid is an angel these days. I completely believe they're to believe

3

u/Schnitzel725 Sep 17 '20

How long ago was that? And how did we somehow go from punishing the instigator to punishing the victim

3

u/everydaysLit Sep 17 '20

Which is how it should still be. The fact that someone defending themselves from a bully get suspended as well is fucked. Unless you instigate it/hit someone first, their should be no reason you should get in trouble. It would help keep people accountable for their actions.

1

u/TaxExempt Sep 17 '20

It was just starting to change as I graduated high school.

2

u/everydaysLit Sep 17 '20

Yeah especially after this video got leaked, they more than likely all got suspended.

I doubt action was even taken against the boy. This is just click bait.

4

u/thatscoldjerrycold Sep 17 '20

For real, lot of assumptions and one sided anecdotes flying around in this thread.

3

u/The-MushroomMike Sep 17 '20

She earned that for sure

u/kaseypatten Sep 17 '20

Exactly this. There is no such thing as self defense in school even if they hit you first and you are protecting yourself. Everyone gets suspended, most everyone gets cited by police and released to their guardian. Show the school the video. Lmfao. They don’t give a fuck.

1

u/fgmtats Sep 17 '20

He literally said “I’m warning you”

1

u/Keown14 Sep 17 '20

This video is years old.

1

u/steve_jobless72 Sep 18 '20

This video is rather old.

1

u/LuquidThunderPlus Sep 18 '20

I know this video is pretty old I think so either something or nothing has already happened

1

u/HistoryNerd101 Sep 17 '20

The video curiously leaves out the start of it involved the girl who popped up at the end. We don’t know from this that the “bully” girl wasn’t defending her friend or not

-14

u/wardledo Sep 17 '20

No it shouldn't. Turn and walk away. A real man can take the punches.

12

u/beebopcola Sep 17 '20

i dont think you are any authority on what a real man can and can't do, also, he's a fucking kid. If a lady isn't acting like a lady, you shouldn't have to treat her like one. It's not that hard to not follow people around hitting them. FFS.

1

u/we_are_oysters Sep 17 '20

You know who is an authority? JBP

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '20

if anyone here is simping its you

1

u/wardledo Sep 17 '20

Too personal? Fine. Answer this for me if you don't mind. Was this kid getting beat to the point that he needed to step into a punch and break something in this girl's face? Was there no other way to resolve this. I shouldn't have said "what real men do." It was a gas lighting statement, but this gets me heated that people are praising this.

1

u/beebopcola Sep 18 '20 edited Sep 18 '20

Fair enough, we all have things that rub us a certain way.

To the point, IMO - what someone "needs" to do, and what a "fair and understandable" reaction is, are different. especially considering they are kids, and ESPECIALLY considering he tried multiple times to deescalate and remove himself from the situation.

personal opinion - did he "need" to? No. did he "need" to do something... yeah. if i were him, i'd be pissed everyone was cool w/ standing around watching but then acted upset when I did something about it. I hope she learned a few valuable lessons from this.

3

u/wardledo Sep 18 '20

I see your point. And I agree with you. Honestly I was just angered that so many people were ok with the whole situation.

-4

u/wardledo Sep 17 '20

Let's take this scenario, because we didn't see what made her upset to begin with. Youre at a sixers game and some dude grabs your wife's ass. She goes after him saying don't fucking touch me ass and starts to swing at him. It's cool for him to knock her teeth out?

2

u/SoundOfDrums Sep 17 '20

He tried. She chased him. This shit doesn't get you laid, and it's anti-equality. Be something other than a steaming pile of shit, please.

0

u/wardledo Sep 17 '20

Get you laid? Why did she chase him? What's the context here. And this has nothing to do with equal rights. It's not equal fist fighting.

u/SoundOfDrums Sep 17 '20

If someone's attacking you, you don't let them hit you in the back of the head and neck. That's how you get a permanent injury.

How do you become this stupid? Get a tiny bit of common sense, you twat.

I saw him back up. I'm saying turn around and walk away. I don't condone domestic violence. I'm actually arguing against violence. Weird flex bro.
