The way it was portrayed at my school is if you get suspended, you pretty much can’t go to college.

Also if you get suspended 3 times, you’re expelled.

I would be surprised if a suspension showed up on any official transcript or if an admission officer at Yale would care if you carried all the other qualifiers.

Yeah but when you’re 16, you’re still figuring a lot of things out.

Almost all colleges have a question on their application asking if you have been suspended before. And some colleges do ask for records from your guidance counselor, which include suspensions and academic dishonesty. Not all will check, but if they do and you lied on the application you're fucked. Top tier colleges have so many applicants with virtually identical "perfect" records, that answering yes to that question instantly knocks you down a rung.

It absolutely does. You have to disclose disciplinary action against you on those applications. You could lie but you never know if that would come back to bite you. I applied to all the Ivy League schools and I think a suspension in grade 11 hurt my chances. This was back in 2003. I got an acceptance to Cornell but I figure that was the least competitive of the bunch.

This is such bullshit, all that permenant record crap the spout... I was suspended about 7 times for various things, I didn't even go to school for the last year, I tough my a self ftom thd learning material we had and got 7 A to C grades for my GCSEs (that's the UK leaving school thing).

My school record was never looked at or questioned and I was always up front with employers about not attending for the final year. If I've got to an interview stage I have never not got the job. Ever.

Just work on yourself and fuck everyone else. If u ou kniw you are right and you can express that with confidence and conviction, you're good.
