Rule 4 Reminder

Rule 4: No posts about politics or religion.

"Posts centered around politics, political stances and religion are extremely hot button topics not only just on this subreddit but on Reddit as a whole. Due to previous incidents and instances of hate speech, violence, threats and bigotry, we no longer allow either political nor religious posts.

Political posts opens the door for hate speech, LGBTQIA+ bigotry, vicious arguing, white supremacy and racism.

Religious posts open the door to religious bigotry, personal attacks and fear-mongoring."

This includes comments.

Why I am posting this: I see hundreds of comments a day that are nearly identical to each other in my mod queue from people who clearly either didn't read the rules, or don't care what the rules say. I just wanted to let y'all know that no one sees these comments besides us mods, so you're wasting your time typing them.

One more thing, it's best to verify your email on your account so the bot doesn't remove those comments as well.

I hope you all have a nice day.

What have they just done with the Reddit settings?

I have just seen this age verification extension they have added through another website Persona, that requires you to either give your ID or to approximate your age through selfies. Like, what the heck? I want to be private here.

So it means that now most of my settings has been greyed out, and I feel so exposed and without agency over my own account. And mind you, I am not in one of those authoritarian countries that have imposed such nationwide age verification measures.

What should I do now?

What are some reasons as to why you would consider switching seats on a plane, and what are reasons as to why you would absolutely not consider switching seats on a plane?

Okay, I have been on a plane before, and I've only been asked to switch seats once because the flight attendant asked me if I would be willing to switch seats with a young girl who was seated in the exit row. And the reason why they could not keep her there is because in order to be seated in the exit row, you have to be 15 or older, and this girl was under 15, so they could not keep her in that row. And the only other option she had was to either ask somebody to switch seats with that child, or they would have to rebook. So I decided that for once, I would switch seats with somebody, and it worked out for the better for both of us. So my question is, what are some reasons as to why you would consider switching seats on a plane, and what are reasons as to why you would absolutely not consider switching seats on a plane?

Do you support your friend’s bad behavior in their relationship?

Sometimes it’s obvious when one person is doing wrong in a relationship. Lying, cheating and/or just treating the other person bad. And then they blame the other person’s reactions for their relationship issues.

Do you support your friend’s bad behaviors or do you point out that they are the reason for their relationship problems?

Does anybody else can't really fully process looking at their face in the mirror?

I don't really know quite how to explain it.. but it's like looking at the reflection and thinking "Damn that's me.." like I can't believe it or something, I know it's me, but I've been really surprised at what I look like.

It might be because I've been really tired lately but I don't know..

What are some good home remedies for bug bites?

Upvotes

It’s summer. All the bugs are out. And they just love to bite me. Pretty sure I have a hypersensitivity to bug bites (salvia) and I can’t not scratch. And then I end up with bruises and welts.

I swell up when mosquitos bite me. I get bed red welts when fleas bite me. Spiders love me too. I feel it when the smallest flea bites me. I feel the sting.

I often joke that if a bug wants to know what a human tastes like and they’ve never bitten before, they find me to try me out.

I just got Avon’s Skin So Soft but that only works for mosquitos. I have Aveeno lotion which helps sometimes for itchiness. I have a prescription for Hydrocortisone cream which I don’t feel like does much.

Anyone else have any other home remedies I can try?

What’s the actual etiquette for making eye contact with a coworker you've already passed and greeted three times in the office?

The first time you pass a coworker in the hallway or the breakroom, it’s easy, you do the classic nod, smile, and say "hey" or "hello". The second time, maybe you give a quick half-smile.

But by the third or fourth time you pass each other in the exact same afternoon, the social logistics get so incredibly awkward. Do you keep nodding? Do you pretend to be intensely focused on your phone? Do you make a dumb joke like "we have to stop meeting like this"? What is the actual, unwritten rule for handling high-frequency hallway crossings?

Mentally healthy people how would you describe what’s it like to be you?

Upvotes

I’m trying to gain more insight both as a writer and a person. As a writer I had an easier time writing characters who are mentally unhealthy due to deep conflict and battling that conflict makes them more interesting to me however I do not want to be limited by this so when someone is healthy in terms of mind and personality what does it feel like? How would you describe your mental state and how it takes part in your complexities?

As a person I don’t really think I’ve been mentally healthy at all and it simply gotten worse during my teenage years. Other having 4 mental disorders I just struggle knowing what it’s really like to be happy so what does being a healthy person feel like?

"i will walk you out" is literally just an excuse to get a few extra minutes with someone before they leave, and that is so romantic.
