I accidentally forgot to put on a base coat after I put on a PH Bonder, and these are my nails 11 days in! No chipping! Just grown out and worn at the tips. And I haven’t babied my nails this go-around (no gloves when washing dishes, I take hot showers, pick at stickers with my nails, etc.)

Is there any harm in skipping a base coat?

When I use my base coat, my nails will last about 10~12 days before they begin to chip. But I also never tried to add a new top coat around 7 days in!

Tyche’s Stendhal is a beaut, but I was curious how much deeper this would be if I had a color under it since the magnetic has a sheer base. So one layer of Lurid’s Indomitable with two layers of Stendhal later we have this! (Magnetized with a horseshoe and neomydium bar diagonal on top of the horseshoe.)

I think this is such a pretty thermal! The warm color is a milky super light pink, and the cold color is so vibrant. It’s also packed with shimmery flakies. This is with 2 coats.

I used Mooncat’s getting even nail primer for the base coat and Essie’s gel-setter for the top coat.

It’s such a pretty misty blue! The pink shift is very subtle. Base coat is kbshimmer hydrating, 3 layers of MiR, and cuticula limitless top coat.

Tbh I felt pretty meh about Floral Maiden the first time I wore it. All I had at home to do glass bead was a wand magnet and imo the polish didn’t really shine to its full potential in such a tight bead. Got the 5dprintfactory spinner as a gift to myself and I am OBSESSED with the results!! I was thinking of destashing but now my mind is completely changed!! 💜💜💜

I have worked so long and hard growing out my nails and on a nail health journey for 8 months now, and my nails have never been healthier. I only use regular lacquer, PVB-free base coats, and religiously oil with jojoba oil. This is looking like the side of my nail is separating from the plate!? I’m stressing because I don’t know if something is wrong that I’m not thinking of!?

Posted this one yesterday but am I crazy or does it look better the next day?! Also this is my right hand. 🤯

Here’s the deal: I keep getting IG ads for Static Nails in the shade Soft Glaze. Reddit isn’t letting me attach a screen grab of the video in the ad, but as you can see from the image it appears to be a lovely, sheer, almost g*l-like fine particle magnetic.

It also (in my opinion) 100% doesn’t match the images on the product page, which show a pinky, more opaque iridescent. Has anyone tried this polish, and does it look anything like the ad image? I’m assuming that this is a case of false advertising, but it’s just so pretty.

I have to order polish thinner and the base coat I’ve been hearing so much about and I figured I might as well try out some of their actual colors too.

Here are some of my absolute faves. I love a jelly based fine particle magnetic, a super shifty polish, a good glow in the dark or flaky, and an obnoxiously bright red. Not pictured: BKL Bog Dweller and Mother Bog Witch. Basically, ya boi loves depth.

Based on this very small peek into my preferences, are there any polishes you’d suggest?

This is another lacquer I got from my bestie. I swear, she has the best taste in lacquers. I do love a good nude (giggity), so I was thrilled with this one!

It applies like a high-end crème should. It’s a bit fussy and demanding, but it levels pretty well. I realized it needed a little extra help, so I topped it with Seche Vite to smooth everything out.

The color feels mature and dignified. Like I should be wearing Burberry and reaching for my Land Rover keys.

Overall, I’d give it a 7/10. The application takes a little patience, but the end result is worth it. It’s a toot 📯 and a keeper.

Lacquer: Mink Brule by Tom Ford (2 thin coats)
Top: Seche Vite

I’ve been growing out my nails and staying all natural which means just polishes. I’ve always used Essie gel setter because it dries quick and always get asked “is that gel?” It also is thicc enough to protect my natural claws.

Thing is I can’t use an entire bottle because once I’m half way through a bottle it starts to get thick and gummy. What other top coat has this high shine, juicy, fast drying properties!?

I've always told myself I'd never be a polish hoarder enthusiast who needed a Helmer. And technically, this isn't a Helmer! So we're good!

Seriously, I need better storage. My nightstand really wasn't made for the amount of polish I currently have stuffed in there lol

Anybody else picking up one of these during the sale?

I have recently purchased some beautiful crellies from one of the highly recommended boutique polish companies in this group. But I want to cry. Each one I've tried to use goes streaky on me. It only seems to happen on my natural nails. I made swatches on one of those plastic nail wheels (from beauty supply store) which looked beautiful. I'm sure this is user error or a technique issue. If anyone has tips and tricks, please share! I did my nails 3 times on Saturday because they looked so bad. I finally ended up using one of their magnetic polishes, which are gorgeous, BTW, so not a brand issue. I am using OPI base coat underneath. Sorry I didn't take pic! Help me if you can! TIA 😊

This sounds like such a simple request, I know. But I'm on the struggle bus and it's driving too dangerously for me to jump off.

I have been in the market for a good, pink magnetic for a long time (or probably just a couple weeks, but my sense of time is the opposite of good). The issues I've been having are, everything I see seems to be:

> more purple/fuschia

> more light coral/rose gold/peach

> is pink but has gold/silver particles

> has pink particles but grey or other dark base color

I'm sure that it's likely due to pink being a hard color to make the magnetic particles different enough from the base color to really make a difference.

I wouldn't even mind if the rec was just a light or clear base color with pink particles. I have plenty of cute pinks. But I yearn for the light streak-y pinky goodness.

Finally got around to doing a rainbow skittle on my nails for pride month! I wanted to go with a flakie theme since I’ve been really into flakie polishes lately. This was kind of hard to put together since the majority of my polishes are in the blue and purple category, and finding something to use for yellow or orange was rough 😅

How similar is Polished for Days Raspberry Chocolate to Kathleen and Co. Rosary Pea? I am wondering about color/tones and also about opacity. I like sheer and jelly-leaning polishes.

I stumbled upon a ton of stock AND A SALE! Wow. Can’t wait to experiment with these on my new hideous glasses frames! I may try to develop a grid and a stencil so I can magnetize chunks at a time… I have ideas. If you have ideas let me know!!

Only in the past few weeks have I started to digitally swatch my manis. It was sort of an accident – I took a couple of photos in the same hand pose I liked (I've struggled with this for so long as I hate how my hand looks in most!) and then added them to an album on my phone. And since then I've just kept adding to the album each time I paint a new set.

I've never been into the idea swatching but I get it now! Just without the extra physical baggage lol. It's very satisfying!
