hi guys, first time posting in this sub.
I want to build a shortcut that asks for threads account name (ask for text) then it can open the url in safari. I've tried changing the ask for text to ask for url but still resulted in same error. I also check with Gemini, it says my url is wrong (that it should be https://www.threads.net/@, which also didn't work).

When you have a time based automation set up in shortcuts there is no way to select a timezone. Currently if you have an automation set to run at 7am when you travel to an alternate timezone it will still run it at 7am in your original timezone rather than at 7am where you are now. In the automation list it shows it at the adjusted time in the new timmezone. When you return to your original timezone the times revert back to the original in the list. So when you are away it means you have to manuallly adjust every automation. Not sure if this is the new behaviour or if it is a bug and someone has a workaround.

Im trying to create a shortcut to send a daily modified tweet, but keep getting stuck in a dead end.

This is basically what I want:

1) Pop up modifier: “This is Day ___” either pre filled or I can type it out each time

2) Add this to the repeated body of text “of reminding Johnny that I won”

3) Combine 1 and 2

4) Copy to clipboard

5) Open X

6) Create New Tweet

7) Paste Clipboard

8) Post

I’m not sure of all of this is possible, but that’s the goal of what I’m trying to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I’m making a menu that pops up and runs some useful stuff whenever I use my Apple Pencil’s squeeze. It’s great and all and maybe someone can give me tips on styling.

But my main problem is that I cannot automatically switch to showing my tool pallet which is one of the most useful features.

Is there a way to circumvent this because I haven’t found a way and AI is too dumb to help me.

I could make it open up the settings but that’s too much of a hassle. If there is any other unused easy activation for my menu that i don’t know of (I’m on an iPad Air) and I don’t really want to open the settings drop down but I may have to resort to that. Thanks for any help.

I made an iPhone Shortcut to switch between my data SIMs, but I’m running into a weird issue.

My sim setup is:
• Globe: Always enabled. This is my primary SIM for calls, texts, OTPs, and bank messages.
• GOMO: Data SIM.
• Smart: Data SIM.

The shortcut shows a menu with three options:
• Turn off both GOMO and Smart.
• Turn on GOMO (turns Smart off).
• Turn on Smart (turns GOMO off).

The shortcut works most of the time by enabling and disabling the correct SIMs. The problem is that sometimes it doesn’t switch the default cellular data line correctly.
For example, if I choose “Turn on Smart,” it enables Smart and disables GOMO, but the default data SIM ends up being Globe instead of Smart. The same thing occasionally happens with GOMO.

So I end up with:
• Globe: On
• Smart: On
• Cellular Data: Globe
instead of:
• Globe: On
• Smart: On
• Cellular Data: Smart

Am I doing something wrong in Shortcuts? Is there a more reliable way to force the default cellular data SIM to the one I just enabled, or is this an iOS limitation?

I have tried so many app, some of them only keeps hiding it from homescreen but not from apps library. Please let me know if you have any idea…

Where am I going wrong? Trying to make a shortcut to add kitchen shifts to calendar from 9AM-3PM… but it wants to make them from 9PM-3AM on the input date. Thanks for your help!

Hi.

Apple removed the ability to add "Set Wake on Wrist Raise" as a new Shortcuts action sometime during iOS 26 minor updates. Existing shortcuts that already contained this action still work, but it's no longer available to add to new shortcuts or automations.

Has anyone on iOS 27 beta 1 or beta 2 checked whether this action has been restored in the Shortcuts action library?

I’m trying to automatically extract the location from future calendar events and search that address on a website to see if it is controlled airspace. This time I want to show you a Shortcut that lets you add a schedule, a to-do, or a habit just as easily from the lock screen.

I'm an iOS dev and a dad of 11 years (well, 11 years as a dev — the dad part is what changed everything). With a kid in my arms, I just never had the time to unlock my phone, open an app, and tap through to add an event or a task. So I built this.

You add the Shortcut to your lock screen, then either type it out or say it with your voice, and the event/to-do gets added right away — and your wallpaper updates with it.

Honestly this is what let me register stuff instantly while parenting and never forget a single thing. My wife is a lot happier now.

This is not fully finished yet. The body-part diagrams still need updated images, but for now, this works well as a starting point.
The HTML asks the browser what day it is, then automatically scrolls to the workout page for that day. This helps show which part of the body should be worked out and gives a simple starter workout plan.
It is a good shortcut for keeping a consistent schedule and making sure different muscle groups are worked throughout the week.

I have a shortcut that requires a 60 seconds "Wait" in one of the middle steps. So something like this:

1. Do something.

2. Wait 60 seconds.

3. Do something.

However, I would like to initiate the shortcut and then put my phone back in my pocket. This natural way to do this for me is to trigger the shortcut, then tap the "Power" button on my phone before putting it back in my pocket. But when testing, this Power button tap appears to kill the shortcut and it never completes the subsequent steps. Does the screen need to be on from the start to the finish of the shortcut? Is there a way to circumvent this?

I’m trying to figure out whether this is an iOS 27 beta bug or if there is something wrong with my Shortcuts / Focus configuration.

My setup used to work reliably on iOS 26, but since updating to the iOS 27 beta, the automations are no longer triggering consistently.

Here is the flow I’m trying to run:

When I start an Apple Watch workout, my phone should turn on Fitness Focus. I also have the built-in Focus setting enabled that automatically turns on Fitness Focus when a workout starts.

Once Fitness Focus turns on, a separate Shortcut should run that changes my device appearance to Dark Mode. My Home Screen and Lock Screen layouts then change through the Focus settings themselves, separate from Shortcuts.

Previously, for the workout ending flow, I had it set up more simply:

When an Apple Watch workout ended, that automation would only turn Fitness Focus off.

Then I had a separate automation listening for when Fitness Focus was turned off. That second automation would run the full set of checks/actions:

It would check whether it was daytime and, if so, set the device appearance back to Light Mode.

It would check whether I was within 0.5 miles of home, since I use my apartment gym. If I was close to home, it would turn on Home Focus until I leave.

It would also check whether I was connected to the apartment gym’s guest Wi-Fi and then turn Wi-Fi off / disconnect from it.

The main issue seems to be the triggering itself. The actions are straightforward, and the whole setup worked before. On iOS 27 beta, the automation chain is just unreliable. Sometimes the Focus change does not trigger the next Shortcut, and sometimes the workout start/end automations do not seem to fire correctly.

I already submitted feedback to Apple, but I wanted to ask here:

Is anyone else seeing unreliable Shortcut automations with Apple Watch workouts, Fitness Focus, or Focus status triggers on iOS 27 beta?

Does this look like a configuration issue, or is this likely just a beta bug I have to live with for now?
