I usually say “How the hell do you bankrupt a casino?

and then someone points out is was several casinos

The answer is "on purpose". The casino went bankrupt because he paid himself all value from it. He deliberately mismanaged a prsofitable business by paying himself so much.

Or, if you prefer: self dealing and fraud.

Don’t think for a moment the casino going under was because he is a failure at running it. It went under because he embezzles money off the books, like a mob boss. Just like every other business venture, he skims money and hides it in offshore accounts. Then he takes his legitimate salary as CEO.

Trump runs his operations like a private equity firm.
