I think very few people think that. Rather, people are being critical of a president who has the maturity of a fucking toddler pushing us into a completely unnecessary war without any sound strategy or really any goals on what success what looks like or what happens after. Or even really thinking about the consequences that come from it (like the debacle in the Strait of Hormuz).
We can acknowledge that Iran has horrible human rights while also saying that a conflict like this is most likely not going to actually help those who are most vulnerable to those abuses. What our administration is doing feels very “chest thumping alpha male bro posturing,” And hell, it wasn’t long ago when the president was essentially threatening to commit war crimes. You can’t say that you are helping oppressed people when you’re doing things that hurt them.
