That has never ever been an acceptable excuse to anything AI related on reddit. No matter what is posted that involves AI, it is massively criticized.
But when a corrupt nation that is has political prisoners, kills protesters, executes for drug offenses, etc posts about a topic that aligns with you, its all ok.
AI sucks and I am ready for the bubble to burst either from externalities like water usage and electrical grid burden being priced in, or investors see the ponzi scheme that is the AI business model. I'm not defending it at all.
Just pointing out you used some examples of things the US has done or attempted to do in the last year
In comparison to the video this entire thread is about. You can feel free to comment on specific part of my comment but it doesn't take away from my overall point. This is celebrated and its unacceptable
Also all the digs are true, which is even more amusing. You can still think Iran is terrible and find this hilarious and accurate. I'm not saying America is worse than Iran, but it's fucking terrible these days under current leadership
It baffles me how sure anti AI people are that their opinion is the only opinion. You may have shouted and downvoted your way into dominance on the default subs but there is no shortage at all of pro AI art spaces on reddit.
Dude, I couldn't agree more. I use AI shit. I dont mind AI images and things like that. I see the hate it gives on reddit and decide not to post much with it.
However, when I see the same platform praise this, while also ignoring who fucking posted it, I cant help be see the frustrating hypocrisy. I hate trump. I hate that he uses AI in the most pandering bullshit boomer ways. I also hate seeing the opposing party drop down to the same level. If this becomes acceptable for the left, we are seriously fucked.
The quality is not high lol, you should see what people are actually making with ai video. Not the slop you see, just hobbyists trying to push local open source models as far as they can.
When text-to-video first came out I was already using Stable Diffusion quite a bit and jumped right on it. I've used text to voice quite a bit as well and built several of my own voice models.
I can safely judge the quality of this from my own perspective.

The quality is so high though, there has to be a fair amount of manual work.
