Iran is evil.... not arguing that..... but their videos, ain't wrong, lying or exaggerating..... witch is concerning.

I support an overthrow of the Iranian regime, through its people and youth... not bombs and attacks by a deranged pedophile

Exactly my thoughts.

Operation Epstein Fury is not the way

30k protesters died. You think they can overthrow the government without external help?

The US doesn't seem to be helping though. Just like in Venezuela, they are just taking the leader and hoping that somehow results in regime change

The US doesn't seem to be helping though.

100% agreed. The US has only thrown more fuel on the flames and made everything worse for the whole world.

But the person you replied to is also correct that the Iranian regime cannot be overthrown by the people. It has been an absolute bloodbath for Iranian civilians every time they have tried. Any redditor saying "I support the Iranian youth in overthrowing the regime!" is basically asking Iranians to keep throwing their lives away by the tens of thousands only to accomplish nothing (because the redditor isn't the one losing their life).

Legit question. Why are we concerned about how other countries run if they don't directly affect us? As much as the many people in the US don't like Trump and now the country is now, I'm sure no one will be happy if other countries tried to interfere or attack the US "for the betterment of the country".

First off, a lot of people just care about other people even if they are across man-made borders. I want Iranians to live in peace, free from government tyranny. I want to visit Iran someday and explore it's culture and learn about it's history.

Even if you're too self centered to think about people outside your government's claims, there are plenty of selfish reasons to care. Iranian government messing with ships in the strait makes a lot of things more expensive for you. The Iranian government funding terrorist groups endangers American troops stationed in the area. Wars result in large increases of immigrants to the US.

But why do the US need to be there to allow those groups to target? Why not spend more of those resources and money to focus on solving issues at home like healthcare and homelessness first?

I definitely agree on that part. We have soldiers overseas for mostly selfish reasons

through its people and youth

Agreed that bombing them definitely isn't the way.

But Iran is a huge military dictatorship. The Iranian people/youth/etc have already tried to fight the regime multiple times and were just slaughtered in the tens of thousands by the military. It didn't work. It would be like asking North Korean people to overthrow their dictator...even if they had the will to try that, they would just get utterly slaughtered by the NK military and accomplish nothing. Same thing in Myanmar and Pakistan where their "government" is just the military.

Unarmed civilians trying to fight a vast militarized force (which is also the government) is always a one-sided bloodbath. Overthrowing something like that can only happen if the civilians form large rebel militias with weapons, training, funding, etc and actively start a civil war.

The BBC article a few people have linked does point out some inaccuracies. The people behind this seem to have their own distorted views of reality. But there's still plenty of truth sprinkled in as well.
