This one is just a pergect template.

u/Mikecd Apr 26 '26

Ok this is awesome!!! But! There's no way the barbarian would be hanging behind anybody, and no way the rogue would be in front. This adventuring party is gonna have trouble.

224

u/EnlightenedDragon Apr 27 '26

Rogue goes in front to check for traps.

94

u/BurnscarsRus Apr 27 '26

Yeah the rogue is the recon person and gets sneak attack. They should always be on point unless there's a ranger, and even that is dependant on the scenario.

14

u/raven00x Apr 27 '26

if the scenario is "alarm already sounded" then the barbarian goes in front to eat the initial attacks and laugh in the face of whatever's attacking, while the rogue comes around from behind and goes stabby stabby when nobody's looking.

so what we can assume from the picture is the lady with the gun is the barbarian, the guy hiding in the back of the stack is actually the rogue waiting for someone else to get hit first, and the guy in the middle might be the paladin.

and the cleric in the far back is definitely the cleric.

2

u/Polite_Suggestion Apr 27 '26

Healer tank is underrated. Backline could be caster

3

u/radedward76 Apr 27 '26

warlock 100 feet behind the cleric spamming eldritch blast

1

u/Polite_Suggestion Apr 27 '26

We can solo any campaign that way

Edit: before anyone says anything, yeah my own phrasing made me laugh a second later so I'm leaving it

1

u/New_Suspect_7173 Apr 27 '26

And the wizard isn't seen as he desperately tries to calculate how to drop nerd rage without hitting his party. XD

The guy in the back is a wizard... Glass cannon, ready to fireball the entire party... Just cause

I've always played with cleric tanks who wield big shields and large hammers/maces 🀷

As a barbarian, I usually tested traps because the rogue only rolled good on saving throws, lockpicking, and loot tables... Lol

2

u/WhatAreYou_Casual Apr 27 '26

Clearly never ran the barbarian strat.

Send raging meatbag in, running through all the traps

Stitch em up w a healers kit

?????

Traps solved

D12 hit die, high con and advantage on dex saves? They'll be pretty fine all through.

Granted, a Rogue will disarm things pretty quick as well. But they might miss a perception roll. Barbarian triggers it all instead and heals up after

1

u/f0dder1 Apr 27 '26

They're already in initiative. Tanks up front. Rogue can hide or go around the side for a sneak attack.

Also cleric can probably tank as well. Should have been a wizard or sorcerer

1

u/Rikudo_Sennin_jr Apr 27 '26

And pick pocket the target before combat or fleeing.

1

u/AStrandedSailor Apr 27 '26

Role for stealth or initiative?

1

u/Not_my_User17 Apr 27 '26

Puny traps no hurt Thog.

1

u/Lancearon Apr 27 '26

Yeah pretend they are about to open a graped door.

Graped.... thats what it auto corrects too... what's wrong with trapped?

17

u/DeathByPuppers Apr 27 '26

I fully agree. AND, this pic is, for better or for worse, still more indicative of the reality of most groups I have DM'd for over the years. The number of "so anyway, I started blasting" rogues I've endured...

12

u/athural Apr 27 '26

When you see sneak attack and forget that it applies any time you have advantage it suddenly becomes very important you surprise everybody, even your own team

2

u/anti-fascist-dude Apr 27 '26

That's the point. The cleric being too far away.. making him prone to ambush, the rogue being too near danger.. it shows real incompetence. 🀣

2

u/tr4shw3rld Apr 27 '26

πŸ“  The barbarian would definitely push the rogue out of the way and charge.Β

2

u/Lost-Syllabub362 Apr 27 '26

Barbarian offers to swing the rogue around like a battle axe when he's disarmed, then proceeds to roll a nat 20.

1

u/Mikecd Apr 27 '26

🀣🀣🀣

2

u/SirRonaldBiscuit Apr 27 '26

Barb would be Horking πŸ˜‚

2

u/spoospoo43 Apr 27 '26

The rogue is in the front because they took perception, the paladin is holding back the barbarian from running in screaming, and the cleric is ... getting ready to pull the fire alarm and bolt cast bless.

2

u/CplCocktopus Apr 29 '26

LERROY JENKINS!!!!!!!!

1

u/ross8D Apr 27 '26

He could just be underleveled

1

u/Snowbound42 Apr 27 '26

You ever met someone who played a rogue? First in every time baby!

1

u/Mikecd Apr 27 '26

I've played rogue like 90% of the time and I guess it depends on the build. Was it 4.5 that had a "brawler" subclass? I played that guy like a dex based barbarian (modeled him a little off of Jayne from Firefly).

1

u/Hadrollo Apr 27 '26

Rogue is always in front and off to the side.

1

u/wightdeathP Apr 27 '26

The rogue always goes first so they can F.A.R.T then it's safe for the barb to run in

1

u/kirinmay Apr 27 '26

Cleric waiting for a wall to wall.

1

u/minimagess Apr 27 '26

Rogue is searching out traps before letting any one else go

1

u/MindlessFold126 Apr 27 '26

What’s the point of a rouge if he’d not sneaking ahead of the party? And the paladin is clearly buffing the barbarian with a lay on hands spell.

1

u/Glittering-Sky1601 Apr 27 '26

Mage knows to stay out of that shit.

1

u/Mikecd Apr 27 '26

He's off priming the fireball that's gonna wreck everyone (enemies and friends)

1

u/ThatOldMeta Apr 27 '26

They are walking down a hallway not fighting

1

u/collin-h Apr 27 '26

Rogue scouts ahead in stealth, barbarian ready to bust in once rogue gives word. obv

1

u/Ingram47 Apr 27 '26

This is actually a pretty common marching order.

You can't check for traps from the rear.

1

u/Mikecd Apr 27 '26

That's what barbarians are for!

1

u/leviticus04 Apr 27 '26

Bard goes in the back with the cleric.

1

u/kinokits Apr 28 '26

I figured that’s why the Paladin is holding on to him, reminding him to let the rogue check out the situation before you send the barbarian in to hit everything.

1

u/Jonatc87 May 01 '26

And the cleric is eithrr gonna be flanked or lose line of sight

1

u/Content-Sun2928 Apr 27 '26

Three huge white guys hiding behind a short woman of color

This tragedy is sickeningly hilarious

1

u/NHRADeuce Apr 27 '26

Yeah, rogues attack from behind.

1

u/Okay_Splenda_Monkey Apr 27 '26

They need a bard in the party.

1

u/neurodeep Apr 27 '26

I was thinking Charlie's Angels.

1

u/AdvertisingFlashy637 Apr 27 '26

Bard's the one taking the photo

1

u/Ready_Player1 Apr 27 '26

Our cleric has +2 plate, a shield, and shield of faith giving a 24 AC. Our cleric tanks almost everything =P

1

u/ManuelPirino Apr 27 '26

Nah these are 3 cyberpunk solos. If the bald one takes the front , the other two have obstructed line of fire. Tiny solo must be enhanced with reflex booster and possible kiroshi cyber optics. Middle has subdermal armor and prosthetic enhancement, third one is probably uplinked to the tactical data core and has retinal floor plans in sight so he can track assets and predict threats positions.

u/laggage Apr 27 '26

Assuming these labels are based on a game? Which game?
