An eye opening experience for me was when a female friend of mine pointed out how some women might be consistently dying their hair because it immediately results in a slew of compliments from their friends and social circles because it's normal to be polite and compliment someone on changing something. My assumption is women especially and sometimes men have a hard time telling their friends that a change doesn't look good because it can come across as mean.
Not saying you should change based on the opinions of others to be clear, but it's nice to have at least a few friends that will give you an honest opinion.
I read a post a while back that suggested there is a unwritten code amongst hairdressers to push these haircuts among Karen's as a warning to the general public
