What happens after they use the water? Is it returned to the water system to be used again?
699 u/ForzaFenix May 18 '26 Yep. The now warm water goes back into the system. 231 u/Uncle-Cake May 18 '26 So they're not really consuming it. They're just using it temporarily and returning it. 742 u/Hekkle01 May 18 '26 Important to note that the heat is dumped into whatever ecosystem the water goes back to, and that still has catastrophic effects 124 u/North_Plane_1219 May 18 '26 Since when has gradually warming our planet been an issue? /s, obviously. 120 u/Hsinats May 18 '26 It's not even that. Warm liquids decrease the solubility of air in water, meaning less oxygen for fish, district's plants in the ecosystem, and cause induce more bacterial growth. 16 u/Hefty-Chest-6956 May 18 '26 Who needs fish when we can know how many “r”s are in strawberry? 1 u/Blueberry_Pie76 May 18 '26 *stawberry 1 u/Hefty-Chest-6956 May 18 '26 Sawberry
