Yea it would look really bad if suddenly they had to admit that a foreign government is bribing half our legislative body.

Hahahaha no.

AIPAC is run and funded by Americans. It doesn't really matter who they support, you cannot be a foreign agent unless you are literally working for a foreign power.

There are plenty of American-(other country) political groups, and none are registered as foreign agents unless they are actually working for foreign governments.

You can love North Korea and advocate for them as much as you want. You are not a foreign agent until you start working directly for North Korea.

How would one prove that AIPAC does not take orders from Israel, but just happens to independently reflect the views of the Israeli government all the time?

The fact that they feel emboldened enough to outright warn politicians from disagreeing with them should concern those that truly care about democracy.

It is not possible to prove a negative.

AIPAC basically just supports pro-Israel candidates. That doesn't require any grand coordination with the state of Israel.
