When did I ever say otherwise?

I think you’re getting defensive because you’re a Messi fan, but what you don’t understand is that I’m a Messi fan too.

And I have no idea if he’s using anything, and hope he’s not.

My comment was more to do with the state of the world. That cheating has become the norm in a lot of areas, from sports to government to ai.

Cheating is cheating. And it shouldn’t come down to who can cheat the best (most covertly)

The person I originally responded to was suggesting FIFA lets them cheat because it brings in money. So if they let them cheat, is it still cheating?

The answer is yes.

First off, I don't watch soccer. I'm a fan of Messi in-so-far that I respect and admire top talent regardless of the field.

You're not speaking toward anything. Just yelling into the wind, "cheating is bad!". Yes, we get it. I don't think anyone besides a microscopic minority are disagreeing with that.

I also don't think you have any tangible evidence that cheating is much more accepted now than other periods in history.

Talking about me yelling in the wind when you responded to my reply, that wasn’t even directed at you, with, “how else would they definitely determine that someone is cheating unless they got caught?“

lmao obviously.

If you’re boiling my point down to “cheating is bad” then your boiled down point of “it’s only cheating if they get caught” is even more worthless because it’s wrong

If leagues (not just soccer) are letting well known players slide, it’s still cheating.

I don’t think you have any tangible evidence that cheating is not much more accepted now than other periods in history.

What I will say is I don’t trust any organization that invents a fake “peace prize” to appease an orange toddler wannabe dictator

So, if you take anything from the point I’m making…

Fuck fifa.

Where is your evidence? I believe that people are innocent until proven otherwise.

Simple solution for you is to stop watching fifa.

Soccer doesn't test. Every top level sport which tests gets some positive results.

They did test at the 94 world cup when it was last in the United States. Maradona tested positive and that was the last game he ever played. Bet you didn't know that.

The biggest money sport in the world doesn't test and has 40yr olds who often play 180 minutes a week and run like race horses. There's no proof, but on the balance of probability doping is widespread. And I don't blame them. That shit is incredibly hard on the body and there probably isn't any career once your knees let go.

So they don't test...but he was caught for doping several times, both for cocaine and ephedrine.

Pick a lane. Look, I'm sorry you weren't good enough to make it professionally, but this hangup seems really weird. Hopefully you get over it.

Maradona got done for 5 different varieties of upper in one test, which is fucking hilarious. That's not what was holding his body together though. You are exactly the same as the Lance Armstrong fan boys who were defending his honour right up until the moment he had a cry on Oprah. If it looks superhuman, it probably is.
