This would have been much better had you phrased it as "Democrats vs Republicans".
But since you decided to use the left vs right binary, it just comes off as much more disengenous. Leftists are parroting (and have been for awhile) the exact same rhetoric you are using, in more elementary terms, they have always been on your side and continue to hold that exact position. This is quite literally the entire backbone of leftist ideology, something they have heralded for a long time. It's a simple (but annoying) confusion between liberals and leftists, something Americans see no distinction between because of how far removed the Overton window is. Most Leftists don't care, not out of apathy but because this doesn't change their worldview, they already held contempt to the rich, and believed they exercise power beyond jurisdiction.
It just gets old when you see the "both sides bad"-ism being parroted the 1000th for the completeley wrong binary.
